Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats socializes feral kittens, taking hissy little babies and turning them into purring little lap cats. We believe in force love and provide a cage free environment and one-on-one attention to each feral kitten. Through physical exercises and delicious food bribes, Charm School volunteer teachers earn the trust and love of the kittens, and bring them to the

understanding that there is a wonderful human home waiting to give them the love and security they deserve. Upon graduation, these kittens continue to blossom in their new homes growing into the most wonderful house cats a family could desire.

This past Tuesday we were fortunate enough to be invited to participate in a TNR collaboration along with to help a total of 34 community cats get spayed & neutered, vaccinated and flea treated!

With your help, we hope to DOUBLE our TNR efforts in 2025 to help keep more cats and kittens off the streets.

Fred is a young active kitty who’s spent the past month in foster getting used to the lavish lifestyle of an indoor kitty. After being born and raised in the streets, he is a huge fan. While these students aren’t siblings they quickly became partners in crime together in their foster home. Spork - this guy is a bundle of fun and can keep himself entertained for hours. He gets a long great with humans of all shapes and sizes, other cats and potentially even dogs! Neon - this girl is a lover! She loves to give kisses and will lick you clean. DAY 7:

Lucky #7 is our sweet girl, Holyfield! Holyfield is the definition of lucky - in her short 3.5 years she has experienced so much already. She was initially pulled from an LA city shelter into our Working Cat program as she was deemed under-socialized. Well, we all know the shelter can be a terrifying place. Upon intake here at Charm School we noticed that she was super sweet but had what appeared to be a horrible injury to her ear that went unnoticed due to her behavior we imagine. We quickly made an appointment with our vet and it turned out it was something more severe, a form of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. The dreaded C word. Fortunately, this girl is a fighter and she was able to have surgery to eradicate the cancer on her ear and the vet was very happy with the outcome as he was able to get very clean margins. Since then she has completely healed up and has had a few rechecks with her surgeon. They reported that she is looking better than ever and still remains cancer free! She just now sports her little ear nubbin which is the cutest thing ever! 👂🏼

Our gal is more than ready to find a home of her own where she can lounge the day away. Her foster reports she is the Queen at head butting to demand more pets. The Queen gets what the Queen wants!

She will be available to meet with this upcoming Saturday 8/10 at our open adoptions at our South LA Bungalow!

With deep sorrow, we must share the heart-wrenching news that Larry David, our cherished hydro kitten, passed away last night at the emergency hospital. Despite him being in the ICU, receiving the very best care, and the extraordinary generosity and support from all of you, we were unable to save him.

Larry David was battling hydrocephalus, a life-threatening condition. We knew it was a gamble taking on a case like Larry’s, but we decided we would do everything in our power to try to give him the happiest and healthiest life possible. Your kindness and contributions allowed us to raise over $15,000 for his much-needed surgery, which would have been scheduled for next week. Though he could not make it to his surgery, your support gave us all hope and showed the true strength of our caring community.

Larry’s time with us was brief but was filled with love and warmth, thanks to each one of you. Your compassion allowed him to experience a level of care and affection that many animals never know. We are profoundly grateful for your support, which meant the world to Larry and to us.

While our hearts are heavy with his loss, we find solace in knowing that Larry’s life, however short, was touched by the kindness of so many. We will continue to honor his memory by helping other vulnerable cats in need, and your contributions will aid us in this mission through the Larry David (The Cat) Emergency Medical Fund.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and compassion during this difficult time. ❤️

FORREST GRUMP - this student was enrolled in Charm School after being found on the side of a freeway! Needless to say Forrest didn’t even have his drivers permit so we’re not sure what he was doing there of all places! Once Forrest got to our Bungalow, he met with the school nurse and sure enough - our new friend had a standard case of ringworm 🦠 Not to worry as our Charm School Teachers are well versed and got started on treatment for this fungus fighter! We did quickly notice that Forrest was lonely so after his initial 2 week quarantine was over and he was doing great, we combined him with another pair of RW kittens! Now that Forrest had friends to play with his sweet and silly side began to show. Now that he’s all cleared of RW he’s on the hunt for a home. We think Forrest would do great in a home with another playful companion! Want to schedule a meet w/ Forrest?

Hey Kitty Bungalow friends! Brittany here. If you don’t know me, I’m KB’s Director of Lifesaving, and it is my duty and honor to make sure all of our feline students are happy and healthy.

We recently introduced you to Larry David, our unique kitty with hydrocephalus (a.k.a. water on the brain). His prognosis is poor without surgery, but luckily he is a great candidate for a shunt. However, he recently has had some neurological episodes, and last night, he was admitted to the emergency hospital, .

Larry spent the night there, and Dr. Jeremy O’Neill, his amazing neurologist, performed a procedure to relieve pressure from his skull by removing some fluid.

Larry has shown improvement after the procedure, but he needs to stay hospitalized for further monitoring.

Larry’s critical care is expensive, and we have exhausted our emergency medical funds. We need your support.

Meet Janelle! Janelle enrolled at Charm School a week ago, when a Good Samaritan found her and tried nursing her back to health. While he tried his best, he realized he wasn’t equipped to care for such a young kitten. While we strictly do not intake from the public, we were afraid Janelle wouldn’t make it through the night if we didn’t spring into action. Luckily, through our Emergency Action Kitten (EAK squad) foster program, we were able to find a foster for Janelle right away. Now, a week later, Janelle is thriving! Young kittens like Janelle are the reason why we need your help. YOU can help make a difference in future student’s lives by making a donation to our kitten shower fundraiser. Russell Stover is on Day 6 of FIP treatment! So far he’s been a real trooper - he’s so brave AND well-behaved! 💖 Last week Russell had to be rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital for diagnostics after he started showing distressing symptoms. Kitty Bungalow’s ability to make quick, middle of the night decisions regarding urgent vet visits and care is reliant upon the support of our amazing community. Meet Bluey - our little FIP warrior. FIP or Feline Infectious Peritonitis, is a disease caused by a mutated form of feline coronavirus and can be fatal if left untreated. Bluey has already been showing signs of improvement after a week of treatment but he still has a long road ahead of him.
