Arriving home last night we immediately noticed Copper was not himself. He was hopping, (not walking), limping on his front legs, hunched, puffed up, breathing shallow & in pain. Glendale Small Animal Hospital squeezed him in & he received an exam & x rays from Dr. Navia.
His diagnosis is arthritis/spondylosis of the lower spine, a twisted patella & inflammation & poor bone density in his front limbs (you can see he doesn't want to put weight on that front leg).
He's resting comfy now on pain meds. If you'd like to pitch in $5 to help with his vet bill we would be so appreciative! Link below. Thank you!!

The shelter was calling him Aberdeen, we’re calling him Blondie and I’m sure his new foster mama will end up settling on a perfect name that fits him and his personality. 🙂Either way he’s very very happy and loving life out of the shelter. And we love that all of the piggies scheduled for euthanasia have a second chance at life! The other 2 boys are settling in as well.
We do have some very very sad news however.
On Saturday before any of these boys even got to us, one of them passed away. His name was Dundee. A second one named Sterling was in critical condition before he got to us. He ended up passing away yesterday afternoon while being held by foster Melissa, leaving us in absolute tears and heartbroken.
This was the last thing we were expecting and a terrible way to spend Mother’s Day weekend.
We are not going to try to speculate as to what could have happened, we didn’t see these boys ourselves as they left the shelter nor did we see them at any stops in between. We’re just heartbroken that 2 of the boys we were supposed to welcome with loving arms didn’t make it to us in time.
Rescue us so incredibly hard with many highs and many more lows. We can only pick ourselves up from our grief and honor their memories by helping others of their kind.
So in memory of Dundee, Sterling and all other piggies we have lost we will continue our work. 🌈
The remainder of these boys in our care will know nothing but love and kindness.

Let’s start the wheekend off with a moment of tranquility brought to you by Olive. Annie has been working magic with her. Olive was rescued along with Popeye back in Feb and she was so skittish and terrified of us. We couldn’t even walk by her cage without her frantically trying to hide. We’re so very happy to see her enjoying calm lap time. It’s a party of baby boys! We put all 5 of our baby boys together and they’re having a blast. Shortly after this they all snuggled in the tunnels together and took a nap! We will be pairing a couple of them up internally and that will leave 3-4 of them in need of an older friend.
