Missy was born with out her front right paw. If she were human it would be as though she only had an arm up to a partial forearm. It is really endearing to watch this Happy little Golden Retriever hop around and roll and play and we are so happy to have her join our Family. Missy has now been adopted by a new family as her original owner was unable to keep her. We are thrilled to have our spunky l
ittle pup. Missy loves to play and the highlight of her days is when she gets to go the doggie park and play with other dogs. People are constantly amazed at how fast she can run, on just 3 legs, as it seems she runs more easily than she walks. Missy has been fitted for a prosthesis and should have it soon. We look forward to helping her adjust to life on 4 legs & I hope she will soon be able to run with the humans in her family too. Below is the rest of the original description about Missy written by Alicia, her original owner. Missy gets around just fine on the three legs God has blessed her with but when she is ready I will be looking into a Prosthetic to help her get around easier. For now she runs and tackles Maverick, Carries her stuffed Alligator Gummy and hangs out with me. My hope is that Missy will learn all sorts of tricks and can then go to Hospitals and special care facilities to help educate and encourage children and amputees. I know affording a prosthetic is going to be tough and Missy is growing, but maybe with a few fans and fundraiser or two Missy can one day have a foot and go on a real walk around the block and not have to fear the smooth wood and tile floors.
