Trigger Jr. was indeed a beautiful and talented horse! He was the son of the famous horse Trigger, who was Roy Rogers’ trusted companion and the star of many of his films and TV shows. Trigger Jr. appeared alongside Roy Rogers in The Roy Rogers Show, taking over as Roy's trusty steed after the original Trigger retired.

Trigger Jr. was a registered Tennessee Walking Horse, known for his smooth, graceful gait and calm temperament, which made him an ideal horse for both the big screen and the fast-paced world of Western action. He had a similar striking golden palomino color to his father, and his performances on The Roy Rogers Show helped to keep the legacy of Trigger alive for the next generation of fans.

Much like his father, Trigger Jr. became a beloved figure, often featured in many of the show’s action sequences and heartwarming moments with Roy. The partnership between Roy Rogers and his horses, particularly Trigger and Trigger Jr., was one of the most iconic in Western entertainment history.

Eddie Sweat & Secretariat ❤️❤️
Edward Sweat (August 29, 1939 – April 17, 1998) was an American groom in Thoroughbred horse racing. Eddie Sweat, born in Holly Hill, South Carolina, was the youngest of nine children raised by a sharecropper. This small town was also home to Lucien Laurin, a future inductee into the U.S. Racing Hall of Fame, who operated a Thoroughbred horse farm. After observing the curious teenager often gazing at the horses from behind a fence, Laurin extended a job offer to Sweat. In 1957, at the age of eighteen, Sweat accepted a position as a groom in the Laurin stable, receiving a modest salary along with 1% of the earnings generated by the horses.
Sweat attracted national media recognition for his expertise in managing Thoroughbreds, particularly when sports journalist William Nack dedicated numerous hours to observing him in 1972 and 1973 near the stalls of Kentucky Derby champions Riva Ridge and Secretariat at the Laurin stable. Secretariat was awarded the title of American Horse of the Year in 1972, a remarkable achievement for a horse at the age of two.

THE AMAZING CIGAR❤️
In 1995, the racing world looked on as the legendary Cigar sloshed home on a muddy track after fighting Jerry Bailey for the lead the whole trip, securing his ninth Grade I win in a row and setting the record for the then fastest Classic ever run. But that’s to be expected from the unconquerable, invincible, unbeatable Cigar.

SEATTLE SLEW
One of the giants of American racing in the 20th century, Seattle Slew left an indelible mark on the sport on and off the track. Purchased for only $17,500 due to his relatively obscure breeding and awkward appearance (one observer noting that he "looked like a mule"). He went on to win champion 2 year old honors, champion 3 year old and Horse of the Year in 1977, and champion older horse at 4. A charismatic and fierce competitor, he was the first undefeated Triple Crown winner and went on to be one of the most influential thoroughbred sires of all time. He died in 2002, 25 years to the day after his Kentucky Derby victory. He was 28.
