Everyone’s glad to see sunshine again! 🤩☀️
Going into another weekend with a great pack of pups! 🐶
🐾Sweet Lulu the Pittie puppy graduated! After 3 weeks she’s leaving us with a solid foundation of obedience both on and off leash, increased confidence and the skills and manners to go just about anywhere with her owner! As a first time dog owner he is thrilled with her new and improved listening and the reliability that comes with having an ecollar trained dog. Have fun guys, I know you will! 🐾
🐾Liesel the German Shepherd puppy graduated today! Her owner has had other shepherds before and wanted to start training with this girl early to help her mature into a well behaved companion. After 3 weeks she has a solid foundation of obedience on and off leash, she’s more confident, no longer reactive and she’s learned how to accept affection without going airborne 🚀😂. Have a great life big girl! 🐾
🐾Barker the Golden Retriever graduated today! This happy go lucky guy needed some major help in the manners department- he jumped, he barked, he pulled and was generally a hot mess express! After 3 weeks he’s learned how to listen to his humans, follow commands and overall make better choices. Here’s to a fun filled future of adventures with his family as their new and improved sidekick! 🐾
🐾Tank & Copper the dynamic duo graduated today! They came in pulling (in different directions 🤪), jumping and generally making their owners life more difficult than it needed to be. After learning a foundation of obedience and manners, they left listening to mom on and off leash, individually AND in tandem. So proud of them AND their committed owner for putting in the work they needed to be the best versions of themselves! 🐾
🐾 Gus the Mastiff Mix graduated today! This big guy already had a great foundation of obedience but needed help gaining reliability in his commands and with his behavior on the walk. We focused LOTS on his mindset and taught him how to look to and trust his humans for guidance. Learning that he doesn’t need to be our guardian has really taken a load off his shoulders and he’s happily embraced his new role in the pack as follower. Good things ahead for this family! 🖤🐾
Sunday funday with an amazing pack! 🐾🐶
Have a great weekend everyone!
Just over here having a blast soaking up the dog days of summer! 🐶😎☀️
Gus our big guy is continuing his longline work with tone recall & stay!
Barker the Golden is already improving SOOO much! Today we recapped tone recall and started stay!
Lulu’s owner tells us about why he brought her for training!
Liesel’s owner tells us about why she signed her up for training!
Tank the PWD is learning about tone recall on the longline!
Copper the Springer Spaniel is off to a great start with his longline work learning about tone recall and how to move with me as a pack!
Copper & Tank’s owner tells us about why they’re here for training!
Welcome Lulu the 6 month old Pittie to training! She belongs to my brother and already has a great foundation on leash with a prong collar and knows her basic commands for a food reward. She’s here for ecollar training to gain reliability off leash and around distractions. We’re also going to work on her ability to settle more quickly in the crate and on confidence building in public and around strangers. Stay tuned! 🤍
Welcome Liesel the 9 month old German Shepherd to our training program! She’s your typical smart but high energy young shepherd - she knows lots of commands but struggles to listen around distractions or when she’s excited. Along with getting her obedience solid around distractions and off leash, we’ll also be working on her mindset ✨ and teaching her how to be calm when needed. She’s the 3rd dog from her family to come to our program and has been signed up since she was only a few months old - we ❤️ proactive owners!!!
Gus the Mastiff mix is off to a great start with his longline work learning about tone recall: come & stay when he hears the beep!
Welcome housemates Copper the Springer Spaniel who just turned 2, and Tank the Portuguese Water dog who’s 1.5 to training! They’re a friendly but wild duo that need help with their recall, leash walking and listening around distractions. Their owner would love be able to do more with them so let’s get to work improving both their manners and their mindsets!
Welcome Barker the 10 month old Golden Retriever to our board and train! This wild child is here to learn some manners and the skills that will make him a companion his owner can take everywhere. He pulls, he jumps up, he barks, he’s generally exuberant and has a hard time settling. His owner came to the right place, stay tuned!!
Welcome Gus the 1 year old Mastiff/Lab mix to our board and train! This big guy is a true gentle giant and loves people and other dogs. He’s here mainly because he struggles with some FOMO when on the leash. He lives in the city (hello constant distractions) and is 100+ lbs which means his leash manners need to be stellar and trustworthy. His owners also said his recall could use some work - he has pulled some runner moves in the past - a reliable recall with give them major peace of mind! Recently he has decided he’s not always a fan of getting into the car and once in has a hard time settling. All super doable goals, let’s get to work!!!
It’s HOT out there! 🥵 we’re keeping weekend social romps concentrated during times when the backyard is mostly shaded. Stay cool everyone!
Saturplay with this weekends gang! 😎☀️
The car is a great place to set the tone for your dog’s behavior on outings! We use the down stay to enforce calmness for the duration of the drive, once parked, as the hatch is opened and until dogs are invited out. This prevents anxious behaviors like climbing all over the car or barking out windows and sets the tone for our permission based mindset!

Tank & Copper our housemate duo graduated yesterday! Even though they’re besties that have been raised together, they have completely opposite personalities that required very different training approaches. A LOT went into getting them to this point but WOW 🌟🌟🌟 they knocked their go home lesson out of the park! Coming when called, heeling on and off leash, following their commands both individually and in tandem and it all came together SO nicely for their owner. 👏😊 Way to go guys! AND major shout out to their amazing owner who did her homework and showed up ready to put the work in - hard work and commitment pays off!!!!
Tank the PWD graduates tomorrow! Here’s how to use his training outside: a polite walk in heel, down stay and off leash recall!
Copper & Tank went on a trip to north beach! Watch how we use the training to pattern good choices: a walk around the town in heel, a “break” in the park and a long down stay at lunch!
How to use Barker’s training outside: a polite walk in heel (without pulling, jumping or barking 🙌), down stay (for when you need him calm & stationary on the go), tone recall (coming when called) and off leash privileges! Wow he’s come a long way!
How to use Gus’ new training outside: a polite walk in heel (and how to prevent reactivity), down stay, recall and let’s go! He’s such a sweet gentle giant 🖤
Barker the Golden puppy & Gus the Mastiff mix went for a walk around North Beach & then to lunch with us! Watch how we use the training to keep them calm and making good choices - well trained dogs are so much fun!
How to use Liesel’s training inside the house 🏠! The place command, tone recall and threshold manners (which is sooooo helpful for slowing that anxious mind down).
How to use Lulu’s new training inside the house! 🏠 A puppy on place isn’t sneaking off to potty in the house or chew things up and IS patterning good choices during down time. ❤️
How to use Copper & Tank’s new training around the house 🏠: the place command, tone recall, threshold manners and disagreeing with anything unwanted!
Place proofing with Barker! What good is a command if you can’t use it practically?? When your dog is distracted and/or may not WANT to listen to you. Proofing allows you to intentionally set up distractions when you’re paying attention to them so you can quickly correct mistakes and guide them back into command. Sharing consistent feedback for mistakes makes their stay stronger and builds reliability! We like to proof with all different types of distractions until we literally cant GET them to mess up. You can ring the doorbell, drop food on the ground, squeak toys, throw toys, fake knock on the door, baby talk them, run the vacuum nearby- basically anything that may tempt them. We DON’T use their name or a command, that’s not fair! Anything else that may cause them to be impulsive is fair game though. If they make a mistake, correct, then direct them back into command and repeat the trigger. Repeat until they’re successful and then PRAISE! We recommend our owners do a place proofing session shortly after getting their dogs back home to help them generalize that the new rules apply even where the old association was NOT listening. Setting up opportunities to have training “conversations” ahead of time will give you and your dog practice working together under pressure and help things run more smoothly when real life distractions happen!

Lulu & Liesel went on a trip to North Beach today to practice their heel and downstay in a new and busy location! We got lots of practice around other dogs which was great for Liesel (I discuss how to address and prevent her reactivity). We ended with breakfast at a cafe while they relaxed calmly at our feet. Good dogs!!!
Housemates Tank & Copper made it to Tractor Supply! Indoor field trips call for their best behavior 🌟 We used heel to keep them walking nicely beside us and our down stays when we needed them stationary. Using the training practically gives them a job to focus on and patterns good choices, good job boys!
