This is the week to explore KY Farmer's who offer CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture).
What is CSA? Why a CSA? In plain English, a CSA is where you help support a local farmer and their dreams. When you sign up with that farm(s), your money/contributions are used to help buy seeds, fertilizer, soil amendments, season extenders, etc. In exchange, you will receive fresh & locally/state vegetables, fruits, eggs, meat, flowers, etc. from that farm, depending on what that farm offers in their CSA. It is your share of the investment in them/us.
Why a CSA? A CSA is a great way to support local (state) farmers, eat in season, freshness not shipped 1000's of miles, explore foods/vegetables that you may have never thought about trying, support the local economy, but most important of all it is an investment in yourself & health!
Be sure to check out a CSA no matter what state or country you live in. You, your family, your community, and your health are always worth the investment!
