The countdown to Christmas has begun! With all the decor going up around the house, it can cause some special considerations when you have pets.

Keep in mind, ornaments and decorations can look like toys to your dog and cat. Carefully consider placement when you’re putting out these fun items.
If you have cats try to avoid tinsel and fake snow, as these are commonly ingested and can cause a trip to the vet.

Make sure your tree is well anchored to the floor and if it is a live tree, please cover the water to prevent your pet from drinking it.

Make sure all electrical cords are covered or hidden so your pet will not be tempted to chew on them.

Your Paws for a Cause food drive donations are so greatly appreciated! Students, teachers, and volunteers assembled about 50 food boxes last night at Bowen Elementary. Each one for a family that had requested a meal for Thanksgiving.
Crosby Middle School also received the first round of food donations for their Thanksgiving boxes.
We want to keep up the giving, so we are extending our food drive to help fill Christmas boxes as well.
When you bring in non-perishable food donations you will get a $20 coupon for PetVet365.

In stressful times, this is a reminder that spending time with your pet can help lift your spirits and provide support.
Pets provide emotional support. Cats and dogs don’t care if we’ve lost our job, wear no makeup, or haven’t brushed our teeth yet. When we need a moral boost that we matter in the world, are cherished, and feel special, our dogs and cats serve that up with tail wags and softs purrs. Scientific studies even show the “love hormone” oxytocin increases during interactions with our pets.
Bottom line, we love pets because they love us back❣️
