It’s been a while since my last post. Dolly and Rip came to visit for a few weeks, and Wink started her obedience training this week. We have enjoyed this nice weather! Hopefully the freezing cold we’re about to get won’t hang around too long.

This could not have been explained better!

The sheer number of amazingly well trained dogs, walking around like they don’t know anything, is astounding. 🤣

If only this dog training thing could be successfully outsourced and one could spend the money, put in the minimal time to check the box, and count on the work that some expert shared with your dog and yourself…and all the great stuff would last.

There’s perfectly good reasons well-trained dogs backslide and past issues come sneaking back in: you’re lacking skills, you’re lacking knowledge, you’re lacking emotional insight/balance, you’re lacking discipline.

Regardless of the money spent, your dog will only be as good as you are. YOU have to become the equal to that which you desire. What are your goals? What are the issues you’re facing? What level of skill/personal transformation are required for you to achieve those goals and overcome those obstacles? And are you willing to put in that time and make those sacrifices? If not, no complaining about your dog backsliding—only one of you is responsible for the “sliding” around here.

As Winston Churchill famously said, “A well-trained dog is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”

Time to get to work, and time to own up. No complaining about the results you didn’t get from the work you didn’t do. ❤️

Dippy had a blast at the Louisville Animal Shelter color run on Saturday!! I think she was the first dog to cross the finish line.

Dippy had a good time Tuesday night showing off her dragon costume at trunk-or-treat!! The kids really enjoyed petting the dogs as they came by to get their candy. Dippy is still waiting on a family to call her own. Contact Louisville Animal Shelter for info on adopting sweet Dippy

Retta dressed up for Halloween and went to town with me yesterday. We visited the Louisville Animal Shelter, went to Tractor Supply, got a pup cup from Hometown Nutrition, and ended the day with a visit to the Hudspeth Center. Needless to say she was exhausted, but her obedience was on point!!!

Chloe is still looking for her forever home.

Chloe is a malinois/Husky mix. She recently completed 2 weeks of training and is doing amazing! She is around 1.5yrs old and is spayed (fixed). She is good with kids and dogs, but needs a slow introduction.

Kudzu Kennels would love to show you how to continue her training and all the special things that make Chloe awesome!
She will need space to run and a special person to show her how to continue being a good dog.

Chloe's adoption fee is only $40. Stop by the shelter and meet this amazing girl.

A wagging tail does not always mean a happy dog! This is the best video I've seen for showing how dogs wag their tails in different emotional states. I deal with this every day to some extent.
