We are a few days late but we wanted to say how thankful we are to all of our supporters. We could always use more help as Onyx and Slate’s neutering surgery approaches but we are so thankful for the love, and support from all of our cat lovers.

ADOPTION UPDATE: Gigi! Remember Gigi? Our FeLV+ cat who found the most perfect home with a wonderful lady who adopts cats with Feline Leukemia. Well Gigi is doing wonderful! “She is really hard to get on camera! She loves playing so much and she is soooo fast! She is getting along with Luke so well, they play together everyday!” We love this for Gigi!

ADOPTION UPDATE: Twix! Twix (on the left) has gotten so big! Here is what her adopters had to say about our sweet girl: “Twix is amazing! She is a sweet, playful, and cuddly kitten who loves her new mouse toy and naps on the cat tree. She also loves wrestling and playing chase with her brother, Malcolm and snuggling together once they are tired. The only things she hates are the vacuum cleaner and the blow dryer. 😂🐱❤️” We miss little Twix but so glad she has such a wonderful home!!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to help Onyx (black kitten) and Slate (grey kitten; still deciding if we like this name) . We found out more about the guy that dumped them and all we can say is it is a sad situation. We are so thankful to have been in the right place at the right time. We have a vet appointment next week but can always use more donations! We are looking for toys, litter, beds and stainless steel water fountains since plastic water fountains can cause cat acne. SURPRISE INTAKE: Our intakes are currently closed but the universe put me and my husband at the right place and the right time. We were leaving Walmart in our neighborhood when a guy pulls up in a truck and yells “Hey lady! You want a cat?” So I walk over and find out there are 2 babies. When asked why he was getting rid of them he flat out said “I got too many and don’t want them anymore”. I couldn’t believe what I just heard…. They are very crusty and one looks like it has a swollen eye. We are in NEED of donations! We need kitten food, toys, and monetary donations as we are 100% these guys aren’t fixed and need medical attention. If you can please give anything we would appreciate it! ADOPTION #12 : Twix! Twix went to her forever home during the middle of August. We didn’t get a photo until now because her new family is dedicated to making sure she adjusts well to their home and their resident cat. Twix is doing better everyday and will hopefully soon be best friends with the other cat who is also FIV+. Fun Fact: Twix traveled a total of 6 hours to be with her new family who absolutely loves her.

ADOPTABLE KITTEN SPOTLIGHT: Twix! Twix is a 9-10 week old kitten who is a ball of energy! Twix is FIV+ and is looking for a home with other FIV+ cats, or as a single kitten. We realize we will get a lot of comments about FIV+ and FIV- cats and how they can coexist. We understand they can and are a rescue that understands FeLV, FIV and FIP. However, our best recommendation to prevent other cats who are FIV- from contracting FIV is to place Twix in a single cat home or with other FIV+ cats. Twix is currently healing from her spay procedure and will be ready for adoption starting on August 9th. Twix Update: Twix came to us after a Good Samaritan found her and couldn’t keep her. We’ve just found out for certain with a PCR test that Twix is FIV + . FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is one of the most common infectious diseases in cats. FIV attacks the immune system leaving the cat vulnerable to infections. While we understand that many people have FIV+ and Negative cats living together, we are recommending that Twix go to a future home as a single kitten or with other FIV+ Cats. We know we will receive a lot of comments on that, but that is what is best recommended for Twix. However, if the introduction process can occur safely with no biting then it’s possible that Twix could go to a home with FIV- cats, but we would need the adopter to understand the risks and sign our infectious diseases clause in our contract. ADOPTION #11 : Gigi! Gigi, who is Feline Leukemia positive went to her forever home today. This adopter is already very patient with Gigi. Gigi’s adopter has other Feline Leukemia positive cats so Gigi can finally have a friend other than chasing our director’s rabbit. We are so happy for Gigi and wish her all the best. 🧡

Due to not enough sign ups, we have had to cancel our paint and sip event. We had a decent amount of people interested in supporting us, but already had summer plans and couldn’t make it. We will also be regrouping and offering more affordable events. Some people have asked how they can still support us even though they can’t make it.
