Without fosters & adopters, many dogs will spend their last moments at the shelter today.

Dogs continue to show up as strays because they are not being properly contained at home.
Please take responsibility for your dogs and keep them restrained and contained!!! That means keep them on a leash, make sure if they aren’t leashed they are in a secured fenced in area. Don’t let them wander!

🐶Attention dog lovers!🐶

Here at Jeffersonville Animal Shelter, we not only need cat/kitten fosters, but we have a HUGE need for dog fosters, as well, especially right now. We have some amazing dogs that are with us at this time and some have even been here for quite a while, some even for several months.

Fostering adult dogs really benefits everyone involved in many ways! At the shelter, we are able to free up the space needed for strays, owner surrenders, etc. that are constantly being brought in. We are able to learn more from them being in a home environment and find the perfect adopter, so that there is less of a chance they will be returned or abandoned. And the foster has the greatest benefit of getting ALL the doggie kisses and snuggles! 🥰 These are just examples to start as there are so many more benefits involved!
