Seven years ago we rescued our Little Miss Bonnie Sue! Today we are celebrating her life and legacy here at Luna Bells. We know she’s celebrating her gotcha day with with all her friends at the rainbow bridge. No doubt with a huge plate of buttered biscuits. We miss you so much, our Queen!

Since Bonnie’s passing, Luna Bells has taken a breather on intake to adjust to the new normal and attend to our broken hearts. As many of you know, we lost all three senior pack leaders that year and the grief was very hard on our pack. We shifted into more of an advocacy and support role but hope to be back to fostering new pups soon.

I (Brittany) have since opened my own therapy practice in Louisville, KY, focusing on grief and pet loss. I also work to help animal care professionals overcome compassion fatigue. Stay on the lookout for my new podcast Happiness Unleashed coming in September from Live Happy. It’s all things empowerment and animals!

Matthew recently moved to Missouri where he is the Rabbi for a congregation in Columbia. We are traveling back and forth and taking the dogs on adventures as we navigate long distance!

Thank you all so much for your support in Luna Bells. These years have flown by and has changed our lives in the most beautiful ways. The animals we’ve brought in were able to grow and thrive because of all of you! Bonnie received so much help and love from across the world, and it is because of all of you that we are able to continue to help special needs cases, such as Bonnie.

Thank you, Bonnie, for sharing your love with the world and bringing awareness to so many other dogs in need. Your memory will always be a blessing 🐾🩷

To our sweet little Starman in the sky…not a day goes by we don’t think about you and how much you inspired us during your time here.
For those of you who knew our hydro magic man Spud and followed his incredible story, you had the opportunity to know just how amazingly special our little guy was.

Spuddy was the most loving, playful, and inspiring dog we ever had. He was loved by so many people around the world and showed that despite the medical challenges he faced, hydrocephalus is something that needs to be ADVOCATED and understood. It can be managed, it is not always hospice: all animals are different and deserve to be treated as such. Their lives matter, and quality of life can be supportive and enriched in so many beautiful ways!
So many dogs in Spud’s shoes are immediately euthanized, but Spud was a shining example of the beauty of life. we know that he loved his life — he was one of the most expressive dogs we ever had, and his love was palpable by both his human and doggie family.
We love you with all a hearts, and we miss you so much, Captain Good Boy. 🚀💫🌙👨‍🚀
