When she was 11 years old, Emily Gill was called out of school by her parents and she remembers thinking, “Oh, no! I’m doing badly in Science and shouldn’t be leaving class.”

Fabulous Toby J, affectionately known as TJ, is a 13 year old Dutch Warmblood gelding who is looking for his new person. In September of 2022 TJ’s owner, Michele, sadly lost her battle with ovarian cancer. Michele’s family is looking for the ideal situation for TJ where he can succeed with someone new and hopefully remain relatively local.
TJ has competed recognized in first and second level scoring in the mid to high 60’s with a professional as well as an amateur. In May of 2022 he competed at a schooling show in his first third level with scores in the mid 60’s. He did have some time off after the loss of his owner but has been in training with me for about 6 months. He has been schooling everything in third level and working towards fourth. I have known and ridden TJ for about 6 years and he has always had such a fun personality and willing work ethic. He is very comfortable to ride and can need inspiration to go forward at times. He is safe on the trail and fine with busy warm up arenas. I have also taken him over some jumps and schooled some working equitation obstacles, he is willing to learn about both and unfazed by most things. He also has been teaching a beginner rider on and off the lunge line helping her take her first steps in walk, trot, and canter.
TJ is currently barefoot and has been for most of his life. That being said, he has worn 4 shoes in the past with no issues. TJ is a good equine citizen and loads, baths, clips, stands for vet/farrier with no issues.
It is very important to me to find TJ the perfect home where he can be appreciated for all his good qualities. If you or anyone you know is looking for a horse like TJ to purchase or possibly lease please contact me.
