Happy National Dog Day! Amai took advantage of Dutch Bros Coffee having bandanas today which I think goes well with her pup cup.

Thank you everyone that has shown such a big interest in this planned litter! I have closed my waitlist to new inquiries. Those that have already reached out will still have a spot if they so choose.

The wait is finally over! We are excited to announce the upcoming breeding of UCH Tsuki's How Sweet It Is RA DJ CGC TKI FO "Amai" and BlueRoof Ashland Caught In The Crossfire "Sal"! This litter will feature both yellow and black Labrador Retriever puppies, expected to arrive in Fall 2025.
Sire and Dam are fully health tested above and beyond the minimum required for the breed. These pups are set to possess the sound temperaments and structure that are characteristic of the Labrador breed. They will make excellent candidates for service and therapy work, scent detection, hunting, or simply being your loyal companion.

We are always here to help with fears you may have and help you come up with ways to keep your dog intact responsibly! Crate and Rotate, heat tracking, and obedience can help prevent unwanted litters; from owning an intact female to fear of your intact male getting loose due to an intact female. If able, keeping intact longer has many health benefits!

Preventing unwanted litters is a goal we all share—but it's time to rethink the surgical approach. Hysterectomies and vasectomies, which preserve hormonal balance, can safely be performed as early as 8 weeks of age, making dogs sterile without disrupting their natural hormones.

In this study, researchers looked at whether the age at which dogs were spayed or neutered, meaning how long they were exposed to their natural s*x hormones, affected how healthy they were in old age. They studied a group of long-lived pet dogs to learn what helps dogs live longer, healthier lives. Dogs with the fewest age-related health problems were considered the most “robust.”

The results showed that both male and female dogs who kept their hormones longer (i.e., were spayed or neutered later) were 3 to 10 times more likely to be healthy in old age compared to those altered earlier. Once hormone exposure and age were taken into account, there was no difference in old-age health between males and females.

This study highlights how important s*x hormones may be for staying healthy later in life and shows that early-life decisions—like when to spay or neuter—can have long-term effects on health.

Amai and I completed our first visits as Canine Ambassadors! We helped spread education about responsible dog ownership, how to safety approach a dog in public, and how to spot a service dog and why we shouldn't interact with them.

Amai was a big hit with the kids and even with the heat, she adored all the attention and love from them. I appreciated the opportunity that cubscouts gave me to help spread education and share a passion for dogs with all the kids.

New Rally Advanced Title!

Amai and I competed today at a Rally title hosted by Greater Louisville Training Club, Inc. and we were able to walk away with 1st Place in Rally Advanced A with a score of 93! This was her final leg so she now has her title! I am so proud of her as it was by far the best run we have ever done and she showed so much enthusiasm that reminded me why I love her so much. Thank you Judge Charlotte Mielziner for making me feel at ease and I could feel the love and appreciation you have for each team that steps into your ring.

Way to go Ora and Amai! So proud of these two.

My daughter trialed this month with Amai for their first ever dock diving event with Dark K9. They were both amazing and walked away with Amai's new title "DJ" or Dock Junior. So happy for them and excited for many more adventures. She also has 2/5 jumps towards her Dock Senior title!
