A lot of clients have been asking about the loose chicken in the parking lot. This is Becky, she is one of the neighbors chickens that figures out the ACE staff is pretty cool! We decided to hire her and she is in charge of client relations and loves greeting everyone at their car when coming to the clinic. On occasions you will see her with her assistant Gladys. Feel free to say hi to them but just be mindful when pulling in and out of the parking lot

Thank you to everyone that has stopped in, called, and emailed to checkin on us, and offer help if needed. While the fire is certainly close, we’re still safe and operating. However, if the voluntary / mandatory evacuation reaches us we will of course close until it’s safe.
Thank you again to everyone, a special thank you to all the brave firefighters/first responders for your tireless efforts in keeping all of us safe.

Unfortunately with the large amount of smoke in the area, there is a high risk of smoke inhalation to our pets and ourselves. We are still currently taking appointments but are informing our clients of the heavy smoke in the area and to be cautious bringing in your pets but if any of your pets are starting to show:

Coughing or gagging

Difficulty breathing, including open mouth breathing and increased noise when breathing

Eye irritation and excessive watering

Inflammation of throat or mouth

Nasal discharge

Asthma-like symptoms

Increased breathing rate

Fatigue or weakness

Disorientation or stumbling

Reduced appetite and/or thirst

Please get them seen! Keep fresh water available and avoid the outdoors as much as possible.

With the current wildfire burning just west of us, we have closed for the rest of the afternoon. Our plan is to open normally tomorrow at 8am~ if any evacuees need help for their displaced animals please call us tomorrow morning.

With summer & hotter temperatures now here, please remember to just leave your best friends at home in the air conditioning. (Especially in the peak heat times of the day) It doesn’t take long for the heat to affect your pets negatively which can become life threatening quickly.

We now carry Simparica Trio! We are limited in stock at the moment so if we don’t have your kiddos size, we luckily have an online pharmacy that can ship directly to your house! The QR code is a direct link to the pharmacy as well as the link in the bio. All pups must be current with a negative heartworm test before starting the medication.

Natalie here with another quick update! We took 5 of the sickest piggies to our vet, Aspen Companion & Exotic Animal Clinic, yesterday. This includes the two that I said were definitely not going to survive/euthanasia cases 48 hours prior. I love being proved wrong in this circumstance! While I can’t say for sure they will be adoptable due to the severity of their dental disease, I can say that they are going to survive and be spoiled regardless from here on out! The girl with an eyeball missing is actually in relatively okay shape, and shouldn’t need surgery! We also didn’t see any babies on her X-ray, she’s just a little bloated. It’s a huge relief all 5 are now able to eat on their own, because as you can imagine, I’m a wee bit pressed for time at the moment.

Pictured is Sandy, who decided anesthesia was no biggie for an emaciated girl with pneumonia. She loves her new teeth, and yes…. I see the resemblance ❤️‍🩹

Our clinic will be assisting them in any way we can by providing medical attention for the guinea pigs they’re bringing in.

We have never experienced a case quite this severe. It takes a village. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Our ACE staff wants to remind everyone that with the arctic cold front Colorado is experiencing right now, it’s important to bring your pets inside. Livestock heaters should be checked frequently to help combat the elements. ** Always be extra cautious of fire danger with heaters**
