This weekends project was to completely redo the inside of the goat house. Originally when I got the farm just the goats slept in their hence why I call it the goat house but as I expanded my farm animals it is now housing all the adult chickens, the pigs and the goats. So I had to make it more practical for everyone.

Saturday I cleaned it out and cleaned the floor really good. Sunday I tore down all the shelving that was originally in it and put up the pig house and goat platform. Today my mom helped me put the roosting bars together. It came out really nice. Roosting bars might need some adjusting but I’ll see how the chickens do tonight. I kind of eyeballed it.

Since owning the farm I have become even more handy and crafty building stuff. You learn to do things yourself to save money where you can. I’m pretty proud of myself for all the different structures and things for the farm animals I’ve done myself. My mom of course is designated holder.

Happy National Cat Day! Since everyone knows I have all the cats today is the day to recognize my cat clan. I’m not really sure how I ended up with so many but I don’t regret it. If anyone knows me I’m always rescuing the misfits nobody wanted and giving them a very spoiled life! It’s a problem I know but oh well. Cats are very easy to deal with in my opinion and you don’t even really know I have so many cats because they all do their own thing.

*read each caption to get a short story on how I ended up adopting each cat. As you can tell me and fostering cats didn’t go well and I always foster failed 😂. At this point I’ve given up and just accepted the fact I’m a crazy cat person and the cat distribution system just chooses me for all these misfit cats because I didn’t really plan on most of these cats.

It has been a crazy past couple of weeks. All the dogs and cats were due for annual checkups and a few of them needed shots. After 5 visits to the vet within 2 weeks all 3 dogs and 8 cats got clean bills of health. My wallet isn’t happy but at least everyone is healthy and happy.

Happy Official Adoption Day Clyde! A little more than 2 years ago I got a call from one of the local rescues I fostered for. She said I know your not looking for another cat but we have this very sick cat that isn’t thriving and I immediately thought of you. I of course said yes and scheduled an appointment to pick Clyde up. I knew nothing about him or what he looked like. All I knew is if an adoption director from a rescue calls me asking for me to take this cat that I’m going to do it.

Upon picking him up the vet tells me he has heartworm and he likely won’t live long because he was sick. I told them I’d do whatever I could to give him the best life for whatever time he had left. After having him for a week or so I noticed him perking up and being the sweetest cat ever. I immediately called them and told them I was adopting him. The director already knew that was going to happen because she knew the kind of person I was.

All Clyde needed was someone to love him and give him a fighting chance. I saw it in his eyes that he was a fighter. Now here we are a little passed 2 years and he’s as happy and healthy as ever! He got a much needed dental last year because his teeth were so bad the vet said if he didn’t die from heartworm he’d die from an infection from his bad teeth. So I took the gamble and had him get a dental. He immediately was a lot happier and was eating a lot better now that his broken and rooted teeth were gone.

My vet tells me that because heartworm doesn’t go away in cats that he might just drop dead at any moment but he shows no signs/symptoms of heartworm. He’s the happiest and sweetest cat I have. He’s acting completely normal and all his bloodwork shows he’s a perfectly healthy normal cat. He’s defeated the odds multiple times and always comes out strong so I’m just spoiling him and giving him the best life I can.

I’m truly thankful that I got that call because I don’t know what life would be life without my baby Clyde. He’s the best cat I could ask for and all he wants to do is snuggle and be right next to me.

Whoops I did it again! 😂

A few weeks ago I adopted 2 bunnies. I missed having a bunny and I had rabbit stuff so obviously it makes sense for me to get a rabbit instead of selling my rabbit things lol. I came across these 2 rabbits that were very neglected and severely matted. Nobody wanted to adopt them because they were half shaved and ratty looking. But you know me I like the ones others don’t. So I adopted them.

They both have their own spacious pen with an elevated bed, multiple hay feeders, water/food dishes, lots of chews, and a litter box. They are very spoiled rabbits already.

I’ve been brushing them and de-matting them slowly so they don’t get upset. Copper has all his hair back already he only had a few bald spot when I adopted him. Buster is now fully de-matted and his hair is growing back slowly. Buster was half bald and had mats all over him when I adopted him. I’ll be very excited to see Buster’s transformation because he has some interesting colors coming in.

Cooper is a lion head mix and buff colored.
Buster is a dwarf mix and black/brown colored.
