The Evans Middle School Baby (Part 6)
On the evening of July 29th, the sun dipped low in the sky, casting golden hues over Evan’s Middle School. I felt a thrill of anticipation as I prepared for my second rendezvous with the elusive nugget. Armed with a fragrant feast of freshly cooked chicken and hotdogs, I was determined to outsmart this clever creature once more.
As I pulled up to the familiar spot, I noticed her perched on the corner like a guardian of the streets, her keen eyes locked onto my every move. With a mixture of excitement and skepticism, I leaped into action, setting up the trap with meticulous care. Each click and clang echoed in the stillness, as if the world held its breath, waiting for the next act of this unfolding drama.
Once the trap was perfectly positioned, I slipped into my vehicle, camouflaging myself behind the tennis courts. My heart raced as I watched her cautiously approach. Would she remember the trap? Would she be wary after her last encounter? But curiosity seemed to win out over caution.
In less than five minutes, the nugget ambled across the street, her nose twitching in delight as she sniffed the air. My heart pounded as she approached the trap, her little body filled with determination. Then, in a breathtaking moment, she stepped inside, and the mechanism clicked shut! Caught again!
This time, it felt different. There was a sense of triumph mixed with joy. I had managed to secure a future for this beautiful girl, who was now destined for a loving home. After a thorough vetting, she emerged healthy and glowing, ready to embrace her new life surrounded by a family that adored her. Her name is Baby.
As I watched her settle into her forever home, I couldn’t help but smile. The thrill of the chase had led to a heartwarming ending, proving that sometimes, persistence pays off in the most delightful ways.

It’s that heartbreaking time again. Our supplies are running dangerously low, and without urgent help, we won’t be able to provide the care that so many vulnerable animals desperately need. We’re in dire need of vaccinations, Albon dewormer, puppy pads, dog food, puppy food, Rescue disinfectant, a sling for a frightened blind girl, and shavings for our furry friends. If we don’t restock soon, we’ll have to turn away new animals needing our help, and that thought is unbearable.

The Lubbock Heart Hospital Trio (Part 6)
On the evening of the 19th, as the sun set was starting to set, our mission to capture the elusive nuggets began. The anticipation was palpable as we gathered at the designated spot, ready to set the trap and reunite the furry family.
Kim and Tori, our trusted allies in this endeavor, arrived promptly, their determination mirroring our own. It was imperative that one of them entice the nuggets with a tantalizing feast, hoping that the aroma would prove irresistible to both mother and son.
With precision and finesse, we set the trap, carefully arranging it to maximize its allure. As we took a step back, satisfied with our preparations, a stroke of luck seemed to be on our side. The nuggets, as if sensing our presence, appeared on the scene, their curiosity piqued by the now familiar contraption before them.
They cautiously approached the trap, their inquisitive eyes darting back and forth, assessing the potential danger. Perhaps aware of their vulnerability, they decided to play it safe and retreated across the street, a calculated move to maintain a safe distance from the unknown.
Tori arrived, her presence a beacon of hope. She called out to the nuggets, their ears perking up at the sound of her voice. With a flick of her wrist, she scattered the food into the waiting trap, aiming to entice both mother and son simultaneously.
But fate had a mischievous twist in store for us. Just as the nuggets were about to embark on their long-awaited feast, a mischievous bird swooped down, unwittingly triggering the trap's door to shut. The tantalizing meal was now tantalizingly out of reach.
Undeterred by this setback, Kim arrived, her determination unwavering. She took charge, redirecting the confused nuggets back towards the trap. With a deft hand, she replenished the food supply, ensuring that temptation would not be in short supply.
As Kim retreated across the street, our hearts raced, knowing that the pivotal moment was upon

The Lubbock Heart Hospital Trio (Part 1)
In the thrilling tale of the Lubbock Heart Hospital Trio, we found ourselves on a mission to rescue a sweet little boy who had wandered away from his momma and sibling. With hearts pounding and excitement in the air, we embarked on a daring adventure to bring this anxious nugget back to safety.
Our first attempt to trap the little one proved to be a challenge, as he was like a mini ninja, dodging our every move. It was like trying to catch a greased lightning bolt wearing roller skates! But we weren't about to give up. Oh no! We rallied a team of compassionate souls who joined us in our quest, armed with an arsenal of treats and toys to entice the elusive wanderer.
After our failed attempts, We set a box trap equipped with a camera, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Houdini-like escape artist. But alas, when we reviewed the footage, all we saw were blurry images of field rodents doing the cha-cha.
Undeterred by our furry friends' dance moves, we regrouped and strategized for the next day. To our surprise, a miraculous turn of events occurred as the three nuggets were spotted together, but at an entirely different location - a mile and a half away at Chick Fil A. Apparently, they couldn't resist the allure of those chicken nuggets either!
Rain poured down on our parade, adding a touch of melancholy to the atmosphere, as the trio roamed around, yearning for their next meal. With determination coursing through our veins and our stomachs growling in harmony, Dusty and I set the trap near the drive-through, patiently awaiting their arrival. The smell of crispy chicken filled the air, making our mission even more tantalizing.
Hours passed, testing our patience and our ability to resist the siren call of Chick Fil A. But we remained steadfast, imagining the triumphant moment when we would finally catch those little rascals. Just when we thought all hope was lost and we were considering our departure for the day, the trio vanish
