Update--Jasper was renamed Jack! Alexander said he felt the new name fit him: "friendly, energetic, and kind". :)
Jasper also moved to Albuquerque today! We were so thrilled when Alexander contacted us to adopt since he had had experience living with his family's retired racer during the pandemic (In fact, he went to West Virginia and adopted her at the racetrack on behalf of his family--how cool is that?). And--there was Jasper all move-in ready! Fabulous. He may rename him--we will keep you posted!

It's official-Shiner has moved to Albuquerque to live with Del. We are so happy that Del wasn't deterred by Shiner's injury that is being managed with Librela injections. Over the years, Del has had 22 Greyhounds/Lurchers. Shiner is lucky number 23! We think Del, Shiner, and his current dog named Buddy will have lots of fun and excitement in the days ahead. Del has adopted several dogs from us. He was saddened when his last one named Tatum passed away--he had also adopted Kato and Lexi from our group. We are so GREYTFUL.

Guinness is having his neuter and dental today. We are so happy that he's recovered from all of his issues. He was in rough shape when we got him due to his being out loose for quite sometime, a tick-borne infection, and also he had dog bites from being attacked. His DNA was interesting for a couple of reasons--first of all, Max is his Dad, and also--his Momma was 100% Greyhound. He's a wonderful Lurcher, young and funny and sweet! We will keep you posted.

I am so happy to announce that Basil got adopted today by Dr. Kendra Sutherlin. If you've met her at one of the Live Oak Animal Hospital locations--you know how GREYT she is. She fell in love with the breed while in Veterinarian School in Scotland and fostered lots of Greyhounds. We were on the lookout for a suitable West Texas Lurcher to join her pack--since Nutmeg, her little terrier mix, needed a buddy. Basil checked all the boxes--he's about 7-years old and was relinquished at the end of July. Happy Days ahead for all of us and especially Basil who certainly made himself at home in record time!

Sterling got adopted today. Angie and her daughter drove from Georgetown to meet all the dogs picked this little sweetie. The rest of the family is on standby back home. We’re so happy to share this news! 😍oh yes, Sterling is a girl! We were kind of unisex with that name. It does mean Little Star. She’ll probably be renamed because there are lots of family members named Sterling 😂

Mustang--our little fella that was captured on a farm near Plainview during the Arctic weather is doing great. He loves to go on walks! He's becoming more confident and has a happier demeanor. We are running behind getting his neuter and hope to accomplish that during August. We believe Mustang is about 2-years old. He's a sweet and quirky Lurcher. We will keep you posted!

Jasper developed a hernia so we decided to get that repaired. Anyway--he was quite hilarious at Live Oak South today. Jasper appointed himself the official greeter for all that entered! He is so charming and adorable. As soon as he heals up from this surgery--he is ready to move in! Jasper just turned 2-years old. He's quite the love bug. :)
