Before the wet and cold weather--we had a fun day at the kennel with all the sweet Greyhounds. Bromley was particularly entertaining--we were headed off for his usual walk around the property when he spoke up, "Say Mate--could we go on a car-ride?" Well sure--whenever a retired racer from Australia makes a request--we're on it! We took him to the "Silent Wings Museum" for a WALKABOUT (!!)--sorry couldn't resist lapsing back into the Australian lingo. He had a blast! Also, look at him demonstrating his skills on the short flight of stairs. Brom is GREYT. He had a successful racing career and now he's ready to go to the next phase of his life. He's 6-years old, loves the crate, loves car-rides, has excellent leash manners, loves ear rubs and hugs! What else do you need? He's assertive enough to be an "only dog" and should be well-suited to live in almost any environment--urban or rural. Love, love--let's find Bromley a home!

Here's AUTUMN "looking at you". Seriously, her name is Autumn and she was recently rescued off the streets of Lubbock. It was a harrowing rescue and took four volunteers-in four vehicles over 2 hours to capture her. She's doing well--now weighs 48 pounds and is recovering from her spay. She's still shy and very unsure of herself. She enjoys ear rubs! We believe Autumn is 2-years old. Huge thanks to Gillian Velasquez and Robin and Danny Holder for helping rescue this sweet dog.

Cotton's song today is "Twist and Shout"! He's just hilarious about that blasted hedgehog. We have to keep a spare on hand since he will typically bury at least one of them. Cotton is in the prime of his life--he's 6-years old and healthy as he can be. He has a playful puppy side to him and he is very affectionate. Isn't he stunning? Adopt Cotton--you will have many years of happiness...

"You're the Sunshine of my Life!" Seriously--look at how adorable Teddy is as he's running and playing in the sun. He's doing so well--he needs a home and a family so he will continue to grow and thrive. He's still shy--but always comes to me whenever I call him. One day--he stayed still long enough to let me rub his ears! Did you remember that Teddy is very young--we think he's about 1-1/2 years old. Pint-sized, too at about 45 pounds. Help us get him to the next stage of his life!

Bromley being adorable! He must've really missed getting his pet-pets during the past few days when we weren't able to go out and see him. He's my favorite one to take on a leash walk--he's just so calm and steady. I do keep an eye out for rabbits--he isn't quite as calm if they show up. But, otherwise--he's just the best boy and will make a GREYT companion for family or individual. He turned 6-years old a few months ago.

Speaking of sunshine and happy days--take a look at Shiner. This little guy is a true delight. He is quite charming and has a very nice smile. He's become a huge fan of going on walks--he pretty much insists on it. Excellent. You may remember--he is about 1/3 Whippet, 1/3 Greyhound, and 1/3 Saluki. He's a good boy!

GOOD DAY, SUNSHINE! Anna Suzanna (nickname Suzy), wishing all of you a fun day in the sun. This sweetie is really coming out of her shell. She loves car-rides and we have more of them planned for her in the near future. She's become more at ease in different situations. Anna Suzanna hasn't had very good luck in finding a home--and we want to change that! Love, Love...

"Hey--don't forget me--I'm a black dog". Black with a wiry coat and lovely silver highlights. Isn't Riley just the cutest? I think her 8% Irish Wolfhound give her a truly distinctive and dramatic flair. This sweet 4-year old Lurcher is looking for the perfect balance of a family or person who will provide loving leadership and respect her tendencies of loyalty and protectiveness. Riley has continued to demonstrate that she would do best as an "only dog"--we respect that and are searching for someone who can give her that consideration.

Hey Brom--did you know it's National Black Dog Day? "Is that right, Mate? Which nation are you speaking of--you know I hail from Australia." Oh yes--well, since you're here now--we will go ahead with the celebration! "Cool--now if you don't mind--I am terribly busy playing with all of these toys!"
Brom is fab--he's GREYT on the leash, loves ear rubs, and is a very good leaner. The best situation for him is as an only dog. We aren't sure he would be cordial in "sharing" situations. If you want an ex-racer from Australia who was very successful and a best buddy to share your time with--Bromley will fit the bill! He recently turned 6-years old. He will be easy to house-train since he is very fond of his crate, doesn't have marking tendencies, and is well mannered on the leash. His prey drive is "off the charts"--but he was a successful racer and that's to be expected. Adopt Bromley!!

Hey Teddy--It's National Black Dog Day! Let's run and play and have some fun. Teddy is a sweetie. He's still shy in new situations and nervous around most people. If you have any time to come to the kennel and help me build up his confidence--that'd be GREYT. He's a cool mixture of Greyhound and Saluki--his traits are predominately Saluki and he's smaller at about 50 pounds, and is full-grown (he's about 18 months old). I am not seeing an active prey drive with this little fella. He seems cordial with dogs that he is meeting through the fence--never snarky. He really loves to run in the yard--and a home with a fenced yard will help him get acclimated easier. Teddy was abandoned by some careless and thoughtless hunters earlier this year--he was only about 10-months old at that time. Let's find this cutie a home!

Indy is still as regal as ever. She tries to play like a puppy and we have to remind her she’s not. The walks are getting shorter as she stumbles sometimes. There are less car rides to the puppy store because it’s hard for her to get around. Our last time out she decided she was an old lady and could just take a treat from a bin and walk out. We’ve had to say goodbye to her sister which was very hard. We look at Indy knowing we don’t have much longer but we will love what time we have left.

Cotton was having fun today. He's got some pretty good moves for a 6-year old. I love the one where he's sneaking off to bury the hedgehog and when I asked him about it--he was looking all innocent and said to me, "Hedgehog--What Hedgehog?" LOL I forgot to let everyone know--but Cotton has been around kids--just in case you are considering adopting him.

Sidney adopted Buck today. Every picture tells a story--and be sure and click on the last one showing "Lubbock, Texas in the Rear View Mirror". Sidney is not stranger to loving Greyhounds and when she lived in Lubbock--she adopted an Brood Momma named Salsa and was determined to add another Greyhound to her life someday after Salsa passed on. Sidney had trouble deciding between Buck and his brother-Cotton--so she has decided to rename Buck--High Cotton! Sweet...

Shandy has a family! Anna and her husband, Jarod adopted her today--they are now driving back home to El Paso--to live happily ever after. (Sweet!) Huge thanks to Wendy Ogelsby for helping us test Shandy with her cats.
