Animal Hospital of Ludington, P.C.

Animal Hospital of Ludington, P.C. "Quality, Caring, Compassionate Companion Animal Medical & Surgical Services." This is not just a string of words to us – it is a way of life.

Animal Hospital of Ludington was founded on November 20, 1991 by Dr. Stephen Paxton. Our slogan is “Quality, Caring, Compassionate Companion Animal Medical and Surgical Services”. We are passionate about animal health care and are dedicated to helping each patient enjoy a long, healthy and happy life. We achieve this goal by consistently living up to our promise of delivering quality, compassionat

e care with each interaction. We are a full service veterinary clinic offering comprehensive medical, dental, diagnostic and surgical care. By far the vast majority of the patients we see are dogs and cats. However, we welcome other small animals such as ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice and gerbils. We also see bird species for beak, nail, and wing trims. We understand how important your pet’s health is to you—it is important to us too; therefore we provide the services, care and treatment he or she needs to achieve a lifetime of good health. At Animal Hospital of Ludington, we strive to continuously offer you, our clients, the best available treatment options to improve the quality of your pets’ lives. Our staff embraces new technology and utilizes CO2 surgical laser, therapy laser, digital radiography and an extensive array of in house diagnostic equipment. We are committed to personally developing our own skills and knowledge by keeping current through continuing education. We believe that staying up to date on all of the new advancements in veterinary medicine allows us to provide your pet with the best possible care. We don’t want to be simply your family vet, but your partner in helping to keep your pet happy and healthy, from birth through the senior years, and every milestone along the way. At Animal Hospital of Ludington, we celebrate and promote the human-animal bond. We are committed to providing you with all the information you need to fully understand your pet’s health care needs. We invite you to come by, take a tour of our hospital, meet our friendly, knowledgeable staff, and learn about our comprehensive services firsthand. We’re confident that once you do, you’ll want to become a member of Animal Hospital of Ludington’s family. We look forward to seeing you very soon and hope you’ll give us the opportunity to serve you and your pets for many years to come!

🎄🐾 Pet Safety Tips for the Holidays! 🐾🎄

As we deck the halls and prepare for festive celebrations, it’s important to keep our furry friends safe from potential hazards. Here are some essential tips for food, ornaments, and decorations:

1. Food Safety:
- Avoid sharing holiday treats like chocolate, onions, and grapes, which can be toxic to pets. Stick to pet-safe snacks! 🍫🚫
- Secure trash cans to prevent your pets from scavenging leftover food. 🗑️🐕

2. Ornament & Decoration Caution:
- Hang ornaments higher on the tree to prevent curious paws from swatting them down! 🎄🐾
- Use pet-safe decorations and avoid tinsel or small ornaments that could be a choking hazard. ✨⚠️

3. Holiday Plants:
- Be cautious with holiday plants like poinsettias, mistletoe, and lilies, as they can be harmful to pets. Opt for pet-safe decorations instead! 🌿🚫

4. Lights and Cords:
- Keep electrical cords and light strings out of reach to prevent chewing and potential shock hazards. 💡⚡

🌨️❄️ Tomorrow is the First Day of Winter ❄️🌞

Whether you're bundling up for snow or enjoying a warm sandy beach, the new season brings fresh opportunities for pet care! 🐾🐕🐱

🚶‍♂️ Exercise Time: With the shorter days, it’s important to keep pets active. Morning or evening walks are great — just be mindful of chilly ground surfaces and early sunsets! 🌅

🐾 Healthy & Happy: Winter wellness checkups are perfect for making sure your pets are healthy and ready to enjoy the season, no matter the weather. 🌴🌤️

💧 Hydration Matters: Cooler air can be just as dehydrating as summer heat, so make sure your pets always have access to fresh water! 🐾💧

🦶 Paw Care: The ground can get chilly, so be mindful of your pet's paws during walks. Check for any debris and keep their paws clean to avoid irritation. 🌴🐾

Let’s make this winter a safe and cozy one for our furry companions! 🐾❤️

✈️ Traveling with Pets This Holiday Season? 🐾

The holiday season is a time for family, and that includes our furry friends! If you’re planning to travel with your pets this Christmas, here are some helpful tips to ensure a smooth journey:

Pre-Travel Check-Up: Schedule a visit to the vet to ensure your pet is healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations. 🩺

Pack Essentials: Bring their food, bowls, leash, and any medications they may need. Don’t forget their favorite toys or blankets for comfort! 🐶❤️

Safety First: Use a secure crate or a pet seatbelt when traveling in the car. It keeps your pet safe and prevents distractions! 🚗💺

Frequent Breaks: Plan for regular stops during your journey for bathroom breaks and to let your pet stretch their legs. 🐾🌳

Pet-Friendly Accommodations: Confirm that your destination is pet-friendly, and check for any additional rules or fees. 🏨🐕

Keep Calm: Help your pet stay relaxed with familiar items and calming music or treats. A little reassurance goes a long way! 🎶🍖

Traveling with your pets can be a joyful adventure! 🐾❤️
