Angel’s Story
I have always had a love for animals. I have been working with them in some capacity since I was 12 years old. My first job was taking care of race horses, and when I was finally old enough to get a “real job” I chose to clean stalls and kennels at a vet clinic instead of working fast food like all my friends. While there, I immersed myself in all aspects of vet care. I did everything from vaccines and lab work to assisting in surgeries.
I met my husband in 2000 and we started a family together. I was a stay at home mom for 5 years. When we decided it was time for me to get back to work, a friend mentioned I should give grooming a try. Knowing I did not want an office job and the love I have for animals, was all it took! I knew I wanted to be in this field. I trained through a corporate company and passed the academy for both dog and cat grooming. I also managed a salon with 6 groomers and became a grooming mentor and instructor. I also groomed in a vet clinic and from home.
In 2017 we made a huge life change and moved our family cross country from Washington state to Michigan for my husband's job. After settling in, I began grooming at a local shop in Luna Pier, Michigan. For 2 years I enjoyed grooming pets, and getting to know many great people in this area. We have loved becoming involved in this community in many different ways.
After the recent closing of the local pet grooming shop here in Luna Pier, our hope is that by opening up a new shop, we can grow new relationships and serve this community by educating pet parents and loving their fur babies as if they were our own through all the adventures of pet grooming.
