THE GOOD

Both fairly good looking.
Both well groomed.
Both current on vaccinations.
Both have a lot of energy.
Both like long walks and spending time outside.
Both love pickup trucks over cars.
Both are great at snuggles.
Both provide great protection after scary movies.
Both would be best paired with a single female who has no other pets (other males might work with the right personality and a lot of work).

THE BAD

Both have cold noses.
Both could benifit from some additional obedience training.
Both are mostly house-trained, unless they get super excited.
Both are prone to back-talk and have a bit of sass.

Jerome PD will pay the adoption fees for the one with four legs. You are on your own for the one with two legs.

Let's find these guys their furever homes!

🆘️EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT🆘️

This weekend we had 3 puppies in foster who started showing symptoms of parvo. We have pinned down an exposure period based on symptoms, and luckily these kiddos were not exposed to any other dogs, and their foster is taking great care of them.

Three heeler pups are being treated, and this afternoon will be given the Parvo Antibodies they need to best face their illness. Total so far for cost is just over $3,000- but we will do everything in our power to make sure they are healthy.

We want to give a big thanks to their foster, who immediately noticed the symptoms so treatment could begin. To Beautiful Hearts Rescue for meeting us today to get the live saving antibodies for treatment, and to Animal Hospital of Chetek of getting them in quickly and being so kind!

With that said, this is a large financial hit, but we would never not treat an ill dog, no matter the cost. After the antibodies are administered, and we have a better idea of what their outcome will be, we will update this post. In the meanwhile, please send all 3 of these beautiful kiddos your pawsitive engery! ❤️

Terry Lauerman, a 75-year-old retired man, walks almost every day to the Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary. At the shelter, he naps and plays with the cats. Terry is known as the "star volunteer catnapper" because he loves spending time with the cats. The shelter helps cats with disabilities that might not have a chance in other places and saves them from being put down.

Terry enjoys relaxing with the cats, and they enjoy his company too. He believes that napping with a cat is the best way to enjoy retirement. Terry’s story shows that you don’t have to do big things to make a difference. Spending time with animals can bring happiness to both the person and the pets. Terry's advice for anyone in retirement: "Nap with a cat!"

I’m so sad. I made it to my next petsitting gig only to discover sweet Mika passed away last weekend. She was just a pup so they’re not sure what happened. She just got really sick and passed away a few hours later. The last time I cared for them, she also got incredibly sick.

I don’t think there’s a greater feeling (of suffocation) in the world, than when a Great Dane is laying (full body) on top of you in the morning. It seems this is Diesel’s favorite thing to do when I tell him I just need a couple more minutes. I stretch out, and he thinks that’s my way of saying it’s okay to climb on top of me and give me a hug. Of course, then I’m pinned so the other dog, Roxie, now decides it’s time to slather me with kisses (I do not like animal kisses - their one kitty does it too, even managing to get me on the lips! Sandpaper, I tell you. Sandpaper!)

Finished dinner and I have a lot of friends… jealousy was always present w “The Zoo” but it’s increased significantly now that they’ve added two tiny kittens to the mix. Big dogs (three total), tiny kitties - I need more laps!

Amazing and gives me a wee bit of hope that Rowdi will still be found one day. Now where was this pup for eight years?!!!

In 2017, Paul Guilbeault was moving across the country from Massachusetts to Arizona. During a pit stop in Oklahoma, his dog, Damian, got loose from his leash and ran off.

Eight years later, the pair has been reunited.
