Needed a little love and snuggles so I stopped at the Community Cat Rescue and Adoption Center before coming home from work tonight. Always bittersweet as I miss the cats that find their fur-ever homes, but so happy for them!

Tonight, I was surprised as to how many were gone as I had visited not too long ago. Sahara, my cuddle bug, was gone 😞 I was told 14 were adopted on a Saturday. Wow!!!

Now here’s a few of the kittens and cats I met tonight. Again, my apologies as I did not get most of their names. The volunteers were busy with possible adopters so I didn’t bother asking, I focused on petting (and the purring).

We all love our pets - how about helping those who don’t have a loving home of their own?

This is a fantastic cat rescue in Rice Lake. These coupons are accepted at the Rice Lake, New Richmond, and Hudson locations - I called to verify. If you’re interested in one, let me know. I travel to NR and Hudson often and could get them to you before Christmas. They’d make a great stocking stuffer! On behalf of all the cats, THANK YOU!

My parents adopted an older cat from there earlier this year and the manager worked with us as he had a health issue. She was FANTASTIC and Higgins is now a 16-lb healthy and happy cat enjoying the occasional shrimp!

An animal rescue pilot has been killed in a plane crash in upstate New York, while two dogs who were with him survived, authorities said.

All I wanted was a home for Thanksgiving but I don't think that's going to happen :(
I've been waiting for my forever home to find me for over a year and I just can't wrap my head around it.
My foster family is GREAT... don't get me wrong. I really love them! But it's just a nice, fuzzy feeling to be able to call some place "home."
Please keep sharing and telling your friends about me. I won't give up hope ❤️

2 facts you may not know about microchipping
1. Animals should never be scanned for a microchip on a metal examination table or near other objects that may cause scanning interference like computers, metal objects and metal doorframes or while wearing a metal collar. This may cause a microchip to be missed. Yet many vet clinics and shelters routinely scan pets on an exam table. Please let them know that this isn’t a good practice!

2. Pets who are going to be microchipped should be kept quiet for several hours afterwards to allow the microchip to “set” in the tissue. This may prevent it from migrating to another location (another cause of a missed microchip) or being expelled from the injection site completely. When doing microchip events, owners should be informed that they should make the microchip station their last stop before heading home. They shouldn’t allow their dog to partake in other activities like obstacle courses, lure coursing or anything that involves running or jumping after the microchip is implanted.

Just wanted to let everyone know I’ll be celebrating Christmas with my family in Hudson on the 24th and have an engagement in Mpls on Saturday the 28th.

I’d be free to petsit in Hudson/Twin Cities area anytime from the eve of the 23rd until the 1st or up north from Christmas Day til the 28th.
