Sweet Teddy has belonged to a loving owner since he was a baby. He’s a big ol’ polar bear who’s reached old manhood and now has vestibular disease. His puppy mind is still intact, but his body doesn’t want to cooperate and makes it difficult to coordinate his legs. Old age sucks when your mind is young but your body defies you.
This is the downside of pet care. We fall in love with every single pet and build bonds with them. Some get old and cross the rainbow bridge. Some move away. Some have situations that change and no longer need us. We process each loss and grieve accordingly. It’s an emotional job full of heart.
For now, Teddy is living out his golden years as he always has - with a doting Mom and a lovely home - as it should be.
When my day comes to cross the bridge, I look so forward to seeing ALL my animal friends come running toward me - and my beloved Mojo leading the pack.
