FYI, due to the space restraints of only a 6 foot table, I will only have my smaller items, such as Nubbins and Sprites, at the U of R Holiday Shopping Fair tomorrow. (No space for Sweater Monsters or large Monster Mouth Pillows)

Whenever someone comes by my booth and says "Aw, I don't have any kids to buy for", I want to show them this picture! Stuffed animals aren't "just for kids". KiraArts is for ALL ages! 😁

I love this! Proof that people of ALL ages love KiraArts Sweater Monsters!...not just kids! A customer who bought 6 monsters from me last week sent me this picture of her dad! She had originally bought the monsters for his grandkids, but when her dad saw this one, he said he was claiming it for himself! (Now she needs another monster from me to replace it!) 😄

Thank you to everyone who came to Mayday! Underground Crafts + Art today! As always, it was a great day! I'm very grateful for you all because I couldn't do this crazy job of mine without you all who love and support and purchase my work!
Also, shout-out to my mom, who I also couldn't do this without! I'm grateful that she's so supportive of her weirdo daughter who makes silly stuffed animals for a living! And she always comes and helps me at my shows when she can! 💜☺️💜
Since I live an hour from Rochester, I'm actually spending the night at my parents' house tonight, recharging so we can do it all again tomorrow! Come on down to the Village Gate tomorrow, 10am-4pm!

Happy Mayday Underground-Eve! 😉 I forgot to mention that I've added another nature/element "sprite" to join the Mossy Rock, Mushroom, and Soot Sprites! This is my new 🔥 Fire Sprite🔥!
I've been wanting to add another element to the crew and I was very inspired by Calcifer from my favorite Studio Ghibli movie, Howl's Moving Castle. I've made a blue version too, as well as a black eyed version. Which version is your favorite? They'll be making their craft show debut tomorrow at Mayday! Underground Crafts + Art . But because they are new, I only have a few. (3 Orange, 2 Blue, and 1 Orange with black eyes) So you know the drill!... get to Mayday early if you have your heart set on one! (Doors open at 10am!) I have a feeling they'll go fast!

I was up late last night making a few of these "Dust Bunnies". Inspired by a conversation with my "adopted nephew" while he was helping me at JackFair, and a sketch that he made. I'll have these at Artist Row at the Rochester Public Market tomorrow. But I only had time to make 3 of them, so get there early if you have your heart set one getting one!

Here's a new style of monster based off of one of my early sock monsters (the little orange guy in the first pic). I call these guys Grin Gremlins! I'll have these 3 available tomorrow at Jack of All Trades - Fine Art + Craft Fair. Which color is your favorite?

I know I've been pretty quiet here lately, but here's something new I've made! A Studio Ghibli inspired Soot Sprite! After making the Mossy Rock Sprites, I was inspired to use the same basic pattern to make some Soot Sprites! I love these guys! I've made 6 of them and will have them at Jack of All Trades - Fine Art + Craft Fair this Saturday! (August 5th) The show opens at 11am, so be sure to get there earlier rather than later if you want to be sure to snag one!

Hey all! My next craft show is going to be the Jack of All Trades - Fine Art + Craft Fair this upcoming Saturday (August 5th)! This year, we'll be at Larkin Square in Buffalo NY. This will be my first time doing JackFair at this venue. (Although I did attend as a shopper when JackFair was at Larkin Square their first year 10 years ago!) There will be lots of great independent artists and crafters there, as well as food trucks and lots of free art/craft workshops! Come on down on Saturday and have some fun!
