My heart is extra heavy with the news of this beautiful girl passing over the rainbow bridge today. 🕊️

Cinnamon was in fact my very first massage client and I’m so incredibly thankful for that. I know she’s forever going to hold a special place in her owners heart; along with holding one in mine.

My deepest condolences go out to your family and all the lives you have touched throughout your life, sweet girl. You were, and still are, truly loved. 🥺💔

It’s always a good day for a bodywork session. This visit we spent a little extra time on his legs to help with circulation and blood flow. Remember, the colder weather and harder ground can make movement slightly more difficult for them in pasture; especially if your horse is dealing with a medical condition.

It’s amazing to see owners do whatever they can for their animals. Let’s continue to be their best advocates together. 💞

Happy Wednesday!!

I’m just giving a little ✨business update✨ for all my current and future clients!!

I am slowly transitioning over to an electronic system for my session details and reports. The goal is to continue to maintain efficiency with this program and provide convenience for everyone involved; this includes your entire horses care team (veterinarians, farriers, chiropractors, trainers, etc).

Communication is extremely important for me, so don’t hesitate to provide feedback during this transition. I’m looking forward to this small change 💞

Red light therapy serves many benefits; such as helping reduce scar tissue because of a wound. This guy’s pasture mate unfortunately decided to take a little chomp out of his rump, which resulted in needing some stitches. After those were removed, RLT was applied daily.

The first picture was my initial visit and the second is an updated picture five days after using red light!

This therapy helps stimulate the regeneration and repair of injured tissue by enhancing blood supply to the treated area. As a result, the cells receive more oxygen and nutrients aiding in the removal of cellular waste. Ultimately, creating a series of positive changes within the body. This natural and non-invasive approach makes it such a valuable modality for equine care and recovery.

Did you know?

When it comes to the cervical forelimbs and pelvic hindlimbs of your horse, there is so much more that meets the eye. Aside from the complexity of the bones, muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments …. it’s interesting to note the two main apparatuses aiding in the function of these limbs; the “suspensory” apparatus and the “stay” apparatus.

The suspensory apparatus’s primary function carries much of the horses weight, prevents hyperextension of their joints and absorbs shock during impact. Now whereas, the stay apparatus is a unique anatomical feature that allows the horse to stand for prolonged periods of time with minimal effort. This system is essential for energy conservation and musculoskeletal stabilization.

As a professional equine bodyworker, it’s extremely important for me to focus my time on the legs to help provide balance throughout the body. The fact that horses support 55-60% of their body weight on the forelimbs and 40-45% of their weight on the hind, is simply incredible! And with that being said, finding ways to support the entirety of the musculoskeletal system is crucial. Which implementing equine massage therapy can be a huge asset to their health and performance!

Yay, it’s Friday!! 🎉

I absolutely LOVE getting these client updates! It makes my heart so happy to hear about your horses improvements. Big or small. Balance is key. Consistency is key. And these are things I will always preach, preach, preach!

You will eventually start noticing changes in your horses movements the more they become balanced. That is one of the many goals in bodywork, right?

Proper musculoskeletal alignment and balance equals better performance and movements. That is why I do emphasize that bodywork and chiropractic work go hand in hand. They are not the same service, but they compliment each other so well. 🤝

Happy Sunday folks!

I’m enjoying the above freezing temperatures while traveling around central Wisconsin that’s for sure. I also thought it’d be fun to share how cute my first barn’s supervisor was today lol 😂💞

🎶 Baby it’s cold outside 🎶 and that’s my weather report for today!! It feels like it’s officially wintertime…. 🥶🥶

With that being said, bodywork is still important to implement as a maintenance routine during the colder months. Horses may be experiencing less turn-out time or movement to help conserve their energy; and remember, those blankets being put to use can also limit body movement at some capacity.

Bodywork has been proven to increase blood circulation, improve range of motion and decrease inflammation in arthritic joints. These frigid temperatures have a tendency to increase the viscosity of synovial fluid, making joints stiff and uncomfortable. Synovial fluid is a thick, lubricating liquid found inside the joints; it surrounds the articular cartilage and helps reduce the friction between bones during motion.

Massage is an excellent way in keeping those muscles comfortable, active and supple. And it’s my job to help keep your horse(s) feeling their absolute best whether they are on or off the season!

Attention horse owners! A friendly reminder for those that may forget or are not certain.

‼️Do not give Banamine IM (intramuscularly)‼️

This route is no longer advised due to the severe adverse effects like tissue abscess at the injection site. With any medication, it is important to be directed by your veterinarian.

Yellowstone Fans - did anyone catch how they gave the Banamine in the last episode?

💉Reminder to never give Banamine intramuscularly. ❌

It's important to know how to properly give your horse medication. If you are ever unsure please don't hesitate to contact us.
