The shelters water has frozen once again. We are good with water and hopefully it will thaw quickly so we won't need foster homes. Will update if we do need to remove animals or if our water situation worsens.

**ATTENTION!!** Date change!!!
New day February 28th on a Friday. So sorry everyone!

We are sorry once again but mother nature is making things difficult, Pub vet has been cancelled for February 17th and will be rescheduled for February 28th. Like last time this is because of all the ice and snow covering the drive in the fairgrounds. Plus poor conditions for their vets to travel. If you had a spot reserved on Feb 17 please CHECK YOUR EMAIL for directions on how to sign up for the March 2nd. If you have any issues please contact Pub.vet. We are sorry for the inconvenience but everyone that puts this on wants you and the animals to be safe.

These puppies are about 7-8 weeks old. Mom is no longer nursing and pushing them off of her. They are eating canned puppy food and some hard food. They have had their first vaccination of DHPP/BORDETELLA but will need boosters at 10, 12, and 14 weeks of age. If you're interested, please stop by the shelter.

Update: Adopted This is Aurora. She is a 2 year old Shepard mix. Aurora is a playful, spirited pup who will steal your heart with her boundless energy and love for fun. Her favorite past time is playing fetch. She is good about bringing the toy back. She knows how to sit and give her paw for a shake. She is treat motivated and eager to learn. She'd be good in a home who could give her plenty of exercise and play time. She also loves being brushed and prefers to follow you around the yard. If you'd like to meet Aurora come see her Tues-Thur 12-4 and Sat-Sun 12-4.

Good morning. We are trying to raise money for our furbabies medical expenses and what better way than a costume contest?! We have dressed up a few of our cats and dogs in hopes of our community picking the best one! We are asking if you're willing to donate a minimum of $2 for every vote (if you donate more, every $2 will go towards a vote for that amimal). We have an online donation portal link and you can also stop by the shelter to cast your vote. If you make an online donation please add in the notes the name of the animal. All donations will go towards our medical fund which covers the costs of spay/neuter, vaccinations and medications. On Halloween we will reveal 1st,2nd, and 3rd place winners! Update: originally thought time slots were taken spots, The director will be in the tank, but time unknown. So keep an eye out on her being up there!! Who wants to get wet for a good cause!?! Kindness Jefferson county (Mike Sims) will be having a dunk tank at the Canaan Fall festival this weekend! Saturday 21st. They are going to share the proceeds with the shelter! Thanks to Donald Probst, whom got this all started by volunteering for the shelter. The Director of the shelter and some of her children will be waiting to get dunked! And we are looking for more volunteers. Come Dunk The Director! (Noonish) If you would like to climb in just let us know.
