UPDATE--

To clarify an earlier advisory from this morning, there are NO water quality issues on the Middleton side of the Bishops Bay. The water is clean and safe. The boil water advisory only applies to the Town of Westport side of Bishops Bay.

Boil Water Advisory -- Town of Westport

The Town of Westport has a Boil Water Advisory affecting addresses in The Farm & The Prairie developments. Westport residents in Bishops Bay who receive their water from the City of Middleton are not affected by this advisory.

Bishop’s Bay water system experienced a loss of pressure today due to a contractor accidentally closing a valve. Everything has been repaired, the valve has been turned back on and pressure has been restored. The Town of Westport's water crew has flushed the system and submitted water quality samples to the State Lab.

In rescue work, we don’t always know much about the dogs that come in. We do our best to figure as much about each dog as possible before they go to a home.
If it’s an owner surrender, we take their word about most things. So if an owner surrenders a dog and says she is spayed, we believe them. Unfortunately there isn’t an easy way to figure out if it’s true. This is the case of a recent adopted dog. She was adopted out to a loving family and was doing great until recently. She became sick and the owner took her to the vet. She had a very serious problem. She had a pyometra (an infected uterus) and became septic. She needed emergency surgery and 24/7 vet care. The owners did the surgery but with that life saving surgery came a very large vet bill.
Our rescue is reaching out for help. We would like to spread the love and raise the money to help cover that expense. The current bill over $7,000 and she is still at the hospital.

Some chihuahuas don’t mind having their nails trimmed. Myrtle is not some chihuahuas.

The hammock helps keep those tiny legs from having to balance or bend in uncomfortable ways. She is totally supported and safe up there. Some dogs fall asleep in the hammock. Again, Myrtle is not some dogs. 😂 ☠️

It also keeps me safe from big gorgeous smiles like this one. 😜 😍

You should have seen the happy dance she did for me when we were all done, though! 🥰💞

Coco was on the radio! Coco, 5 months old, was featured as our Pet of the Week on 94.9 WOLX and 105.5 Triple M. In case you missed it, Coco is the sweetest pup in the world. She has so much energy and loves to play and cuddle. Coco is quite food motivated so our volunteers have taught her sit and lay down already. She also loves to play with other dogs. During an outing, Coco ran around with a volunteer's dogs in the yard for an hour and could have played even longer. Because of her high energy, Coco is looking for a home with no small children or cats. She’s still a puppy and needs a family who will continue working with her on her manners.

For this Take Me Home Tuesday with Madison Minutes, Dane County Humane Society would like you to meet Honey Bear, who's nearly 4 years old. She's a shy girl, but give her time and some encouraging words and Honey Bear will warm up. She is very friendly and sweet.

While Honey Bear has lived with other dogs, introductions should be done slowly. Honey Bear is looking for a patient family who will give her time to adjust while working with her to help her gain confidence.

Honey Bear has been with us a bit, so she’s a member of our Lonely Hearts Club. Because October is Adopt a Dog Month, her adoption fee has been further reduced to $100.
