‼️I would like some input from yall ‼️

Boo & Hades I’ve been unable to tie naturally in the last 5 heat cycle attempts due to size difference. Last heat attempt I managed to do AI, but it was a couple days late & it didn’t take. Boo is currently in heat & Hades is trying his best, but it’s still not happening naturally.

Should I let Stitch try?

Hades & Boo litter would be all liver babies in different coat lengths.
A Stitch & Boo litter would get more of a variety, including livers & liver sables along w/ standard colors. Their personalities & structures complement each other well as Stitch is Hades’s son. I do believe they would make beautiful babies however, I know myself others have been dead set on a Hades & Boo baby.

Long Transparency Post with a surprise at the End 🖤

Although it is not a “normal” job, breeding is a job and it’s my job. I’m a small breeder that only does 2-4 litters a year. I do not have dogs out in kennels or untrained unsocialized dogs that are just for breeding. My dogs are my babies and every single one (14) live in my home. They are trained, they are family and they are pets, not business tools. However, even though it’s outside of the norm, this is a job and just like with any job, you make mistakes. Some mistakes bigger than others but all are lessons. Some mistakes you chalk up quickly, others you beat yourself up about and stress over for months. I am currently going through the ladder of the two. The guilt is unimaginable and I promise anything you have you say I have said 10x worse to myself.

If you follow my page you know last fall was ZaZu’s “retirement litter”. She had turned 6 this past December which is the max age I am comfortable breeding (AKC allows up to 9 I believe) and the max numbers of litters I was comfortable with. However, being six I had extreme anxiety about putting her under anesthesia to be spayed. I was sure that I could keep her separate during her heat cycles since I keep certain dogs separate throughout the year. No biggy and no stress. However, life happens. In our life I am currently going through low grade chemo infusions every three weeks along with constant doctor appointments & ER visits for my new Lupus diagnosis. At the same time my spouse is currently under going dialysis & receiving a kidney transplant in the next month. THESE ARE NOT EXCUSES. I am fully responsible for my dogs and the life I have built. I am just painting a picture of how hectic things suddenly became. During this ZaZu apparently went into heat a little earlier than I expected. I separated her from everyone 1-2 weeks before her cycle should’ve began. Unfortunately, while they were out playing Hades had himself a hot date without my knowledge. It wasn’t until about 2.5 weeks ago (pregnancy is 9 weeks) that I realized she was pregnant. On 04/29/24 she delivered 10 healthy babies and one that passed last night. Due to this I know that I have to just deal with my anxiety and get her spayed so this absolutely cannot happen again. She will be spayed late June after the babies go to their forever homes.

This entire situation has been eating me alive and the guilt I feel is immeasurable. It is 1000% my fault and I am so sorry I have let you all down in the ethical and responsible breeding you expect from me. It will not happen again.

After this post I will be making another post introducing the babies. Even though they are accidents, they are extremely cute ones 🖤

With tears in my eyes I have to share one of the hardest parts of breeding.

As some of you seen on my story #10 had a rough start. It took me about 40 minutes to even get him semi stable after birth. Yesterday evening he appeared to be doing better so I put him with his siblings. I stayed up all night with the puppies as I always do and at 3-4am I notice he had become lethargic. I tried putting him in the warming dino, stimulating him, syringe feeding him sugar water to stop the fading and even injecting sub q fluids. However, sadly after hours of trying, he passed away in my arms at 10:30am this morning.
