About us
Our names are Tim and Lacy Belangee and we are the owners of Ruff Dayz doggie daycare and boarding. We first wanted to open up a business in dog daycare and boarding when we took our three dogs to a daycare in Savoy Illinois. We both worked long hours in the medical field so it was convenient for us to drop our fur babies off at a dog daycare. We saw how excited they were every time we dropped them off and they wouldn’t want to leave and come home with us. Our daughters’ dog, “grey” was always hyper, running around the house, and very excited, and she behaviorally changed with daycare. When we started taking her, she played with the other dogs and would come home tired, calm and be settled down. We got her and one of our other dogs certified as a good canine good citizen from the American Kennel Club. Everything just rolled from there. We always dreamed to live in Mahomet and wanted to open a business ourselves, and this is the first step.
Our Doggie Daycare is a supervised fun environment for dogs to interact both in and outdoors. There is a room each for different temperamental and different size dogs to play. We provide social interaction, interactive play, musical stimulation, and one hour of quiet/rest time. We are outside constantly, so dogs get a chance to be indoors and outdoors all day long. We are certified by the state as a kennel but we operate as a luxurious daycare.
We call boarding, sleepovers, because that’s what it is. Your dog cuddled up next to us or other dogs in cots or blankets. Sometimes they even snuggle with us on the pull-out couch. We try to make it as homey and comfortable as possible. The only time we put the pups in kennels is feeding time, if a dog needs an enrichment toy or a possible time out from playing too hard. If the owner prefers their dog to be kenneled that can be arranged. We have on site staff 24/7 and will make sure someone is with your dog 24/7. Safety is our number one concern.
