What We Rescuers Face Every Single Day…Before you judge, spend 1 day in our shoes.
Today, I didn’t have room for your dog. I had to say no.
You said you were moving and couldn’t take him. I asked if you could wait just one more week—just one.
You couldn’t.
You took him to animal control.
Where owners surrender are first to be euthanized. 💔
Today, I didn’t have room for your puppies. I had to say no.
You said they had to go now. I spent hours begging for help, and when I finally found a place… I called you.
But it was too late.
You said you had already “taken care of them.” 💔
Today, the high-kill shelter sent us “The List.”
So many faces.
Puppies. Purebreds. Pregnant mamas.
All scheduled for euthanasia.
We are full. We can’t help. 💔
Today, I tried to save your dog.
But the damage was too much. Years of neglect caught up.
He bit someone. And now he pays the ultimate price for your failure. 💔
Today, you tagged me in a Facebook post—someone giving away their dog for free.
By the time I responded, he was gone.
Not to a loving home.
But to a dog fighter. 💔
Today, you dropped off your dog.
Thirteen years of loyalty, and now… he pees on the carpet, so he had to go.
He had cancer.
He died afraid, surrounded by strangers.
I held his paw as he took his last breath. 💔
Today, you called me in a panic. Your dog was “acting strange.”
You said you couldn’t afford a vet.
She was in labor, outside, on a chain.
By the time I arrived, it was too late.
She died alone. 💔
You hear the stories of the ones we save…
But all we can think about are the ones we couldn’t.
The ones we lost.
Today.
Every. Single. Day. 💔
To all my fellow rescuers, every foster, every volunteer with the most fragile hearts—thank you.
You wake up knowing your heart will break… and you do it anyway. 💜
Please. We need help.
Adopt if you can.
Foster—it’s free and it saves lives.
Donate—money, food, blankets, puppy pads, cat litter, toys, kennels, beds… every bit helps.
Volunteer—transport, clean, walk, cuddle, take photos, help at events.
Share. A simple post might reach the one person who says “Yes, I can help.”
Doing nothing is doing something—it's letting them die.
Please, be their voice.
Help us fight for the ones who have no one else.
Even if this reaches just one heart…
It could mean the world to one life. 💛
