Karma achieved her first leg of her AKC JH (Junior Hunt) title at Grassy Creek Retriever Club of Indiana under Judges Susan Steffey / Cathy Brush. The hunt had some new challenges Karma and I haven’t faced yet. One being the ducks were live flyers today. Karma handled everything like a pro! She did amazing. Good work ethic nice hunting, good marking. She was the youngest dog competing the entire weekend and of 15 junior handler teams Karma was one of only 8 dogs passing today.

Karma and I competed today for her first leg of her HRC Hunt Test hosted by Ohio Hunting Retriever Club LLC. Karma did excellent having only been in a trial situation twice now. She got all her marks and delivered all of them to hand. She is such an incredible little gal! Can’t wait to finish her SHR and JH in the spring!

Today Karma and I traveled to Howell, MI to obtain her WC (working certificate). Basically the dog retrieves a duck over land and twice in the water, and they cannot show gun shyness. Karma did an excellent job for such a young pup and having hardly any practice with actual ducks! She now is….

Even though I’ve had the pleasure of whelping several litters over the years it still amazes me every time how fast they grow!! These two pics are hours after the puppies were born and yesterday at 1 week old. That’s why it’s imperative to not over exercise your growing puppies, proper nutrition, and a healthy weight are so so so important.
