We had the honor of making Phoenix Blue’s first birthday cake this past weekend 💙 If you haven’t heard Phoenix’s story here is part of it as told by his rescuer, January: “On 8/26 while driving on a dirt road; I witnessed a man swinging this pit bull puppy by the tail & kicking it into the air, as I quickly approached him, he jumped in his truck and fled. I opened the door to check on the puppy and he climbed into my truck, under my feet, and froze in fear. I sat with him feeding him tiny bites of banana until he felt safe to move again.

I took him home and then to the animal hospital where it was confirmed he is a “bait dog” used in pit bull fighting. His ear is ripped, he’s covered in scars on his neck, he is severely emaciated, and his tail was chronically broken over and over…estimated 3-5 times.

He has a long journey ahead but with the right care & love from our community he will rise up! He went small time viral & is loved by many! As a community we decided to name him Blue Phoenix, to symbolize his ability to endure deep pain while also holding the power to rise up from the ashes.”
