Dog Fact of the Day 🐾
Dogs have a unique cooling mechanism since they don’t sweat like humans do. Instead of sweating through their skin, dogs only sweat through the pads of their paws. To cool off, they rely heavily on panting, which helps circulate air through their bodies and regulate their temperature.

Dogs have around 18 muscles in each ear, which allow them to move their ears in different directions! This helps them express emotions, focus on specific sounds, and communicate with other dogs. Their ear mobility is one reason they’re so attuned to the world around them!

Dogs have a special “third eyelid,” called the haw or nictitating membrane, which helps protect their eyes and keep them moist. Hi, I’m Katt, owner of Katt’s K9 Treks! I’m 27 and have been happily married for three years. My husband and I share five amazing children, and we live in Devola. We are very family oriented. As a mom to a child with autism, I’m a passionate advocate for autism awareness and support. 🧩
When I’m not working with your furry friends, I love spending time with my own rescue dog, an 11-year-old pit bull mix who means the world to me. I grew up on a farm with my childhood best friend, raising livestock and caring for animals. Those experiences gave me over 20 years of knowledge and a deep love for animals, especially horses and dogs! In my free time, I enjoy nature, photography, football (Go Cleveland Browns and Ohio State!) 🏈, listening to music, and traveling. Meditating and stargazing are my go-to ways to unwind, and I love capturing special moments through my camera lens. I’m so excited to bring my passion for animals, the outdoors, and photography to my business, and I can’t wait get to know you and meet your pups! 🐶
