✨️Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Shelter Manager to lead our team and
oversee daily operations at our animal shelter. This leadership role ensures the health, safety, and well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a positive environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors.
✨️Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and support shelter staff and volunteers, ensuring clear communication
and high morale.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate employees and volunteers to maintain a strong team.
• Create and implement schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Oversee all aspects of animal care, including intake, health checks, medical treatments, and adoptions.
• Ensure shelter facilities are clean, organized, and meet regulatory and safety standards.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure humane care and effective shelter operations.
• Manage the shelter’s budget and monitor expenses.
• Maintain accurate records of animals, adoptions, and other shelter activities.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors or leadership team on strategic planning and fundraising initiatives.
• Build relationships with local organizations, veterinarians, and rescue groups to enhance shelter resources and programs.
• Represent the shelter at community events and through public speaking engagements.
• Address inquiries and concerns from the public
✨️Qualifications:
• Proven leadership experience in animal welfare, shelter operations, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of animal care standards, including health, behavior, and enrichment practices.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and the public.
• Proficiency in computer systems and shelter management software is a plus.
