You may have noticed we have placed these signs around the store- there have been many times where the storefront has had several hundred people come through asking questions and seeing, learning about and meeting animals- we love that! However, as a store we’re niche and we get it. It’s free to come visit during our open hours, even with our educational displays set up- but if you appreciate our space, feel free to ‘buy us a coffee’! We’re open 7 days a week, right downtown. Come visit us!

Aquarium decor is a fun topic- there are a ton of great options. We prefer going with leaves and biodegradables, wood products, some clay products and stone. Most of the decor we use serves multiple purposes, while crushed shell and coral substrates and rock help maintain a higher PH for some fish, fish requiring lower PH will benefit from leaves, tannin rich wood products and live plants. We sometimes refer to this as the tank ‘recipe’, and depending on what perimeters your fish needs will change the ‘ingredients’ to the tank. Chris has been keeping fish for over two and a half decades now and is ready to help you set up a great aquarium- let us know what we can do for you!

My mom stopped by the shop yesterday to surprise me with this freakin’ awesome and gigantic spider she made! Just had to show it off- I told her she should make them ‘custom order’ for people and she said she would be up for it if someone wanted one 🤓 I’ll have it on display here for a bit, but wanted people to know where it came from. Thanks mom!

Good news and ‘meh’ news. ‘Meh’ news first- the progress on completing the educational room is slow, and while it will still happen one day and hopefully sooner than later, my goal of opening it in June probably isn’t going to happen; and I think mid July should be expected. Now for the good- i’m too eager to share some of my own collection with you to wait any longer so we went ahead and moved some beautiful display tanks in. Now featured in the storefront are five super cool dart frog bioactive enclosures, a pair of Sameiti leaftail geckos and an adult leachie :) We hope they aid in inspiration for bioactive enclosures, but also hope you enjoy them as much as we do! We’re open until 8!

Little update- we’re moving stuff around (again)! Our shop will be open intermittently from 12-4 due to being short staffed while Easton is in Costa Rica. We will be open as normal from 4-8. Thanks!
