❤️🔥”Heart attacks are free, so give your horse one”
The more you expose your horse to things that move and make a noise, the calmer he will get.
Good job Cadillac !

🚫We haven’t installed the steering wheel yet… still working on the engine .
This is KeeKee’s 2nd time at the Cruising lesson.
Cruising gets her to be comfortable maintaining her gait on a totally loose rein (no steering) while working on her cues to move out.
A little bit of ducking and diving still there, but much less than her 1st lesson and this will continue to improve as we continue her Method training.

🚲Doesn’t look like much…but this is the beginning foundation of a good gas pedal.
🏎️
We’ll work on getting this young fillly to be more comfortable moving out with a loose rein at a
W/T/C in the coming days.

🐎Putting some steady miles under their feet…
How do get a horse to lope relaxed on a loose rein?
You lope them, and then you lope them, and lope some more.
Pete is getting a healthy dose now that harvest has come and the fields are open.

Ta-dumpt, ta-dumpt, ta-dumpt…
Ta-dumpt, ta-dumpt, ta-dumpt…
Finn’s got rhythm. When your 2yo filly can canter relaxed on a loose rein across open pastures, is reading your seat, and is soft to the bit, you know you’ve got a foundation.

Day at the office
Ho hum…another day at the office for Finn
First Sorting practice with Lucy
The last weeks of Lucy’s Academy Training means a trip or two to the Machine Shed Arena for cattle sorting practices. Being in a small area with calves puts a lot of pressure on a horse. So building a solid foundation in the Fundamentals level of the Method with Lucy really helped her cope with her first exposure to the cattle pen. But giving a horse a job breaks up the monotony of the training arena and helps with their mental well-being as well. As you watch, Lucy built more confidence and enjoyed herself more with each calf she sorted. Way to go Lucy!
