All of our dogs live with us inside as we do not believe in the standard kennel set up some breeders use. Our dog’s health and wellbeing is our top priority overall. We are very passionate about the breed and we want to share our love of golden retrievers to great families by offering healthy, loyal, easily trainable, and well-socialized puppies. It was our passion for this breed that started our
journey in making Ivy League Golden Retrievers. We consider all our clients family and continue to offer support throughout a puppies lifetime. All of our dogs are 100% purebred Golden Retrievers. Our puppies leave for their new homes around 7-8 weeks of age. Before taking your puppy home, it will receive age appropriate dewormings, health certificates, and first set of shots by our licensed vet. We send our puppies home with a take home bag that includes the food they are currently eating, shot/vet records, treats, toys, a couple puppy pads, vitamins, supplements, and a blanket with their mother’s scent to help them better transition into their new home. Your puppy will have been socialized by children, adults, cats, large dogs, and small dogs while in our care. We also work with desentizing your puppy to news things that might typically be scary for a puppy, such as loud noises, new places, and strange smells. We also start working with your puppy's name recognition and recall before they leave our care. Crate training is started before a puppy heads to it's forever home to help with the transition a bit easier. Finally we temperament test the puppies throughout their time with us in order to better place puppies with their forever families. We keep an active waiting list at all times. This list is for all potential clients whether they are looking for a puppy right away or if they want to wait a while. A filled out Puppy Application is required to be added to the waiting list. This waiting list will be notified after a breeding has been completed, when a pregnancy is confirmed, once an x-ray is completed for an estimated headcount, and when the puppies are born. When a pregnancy is confirmed, we will begin taking non-refundable deposits/holding fees to reserve your spot for pick order for five puppies. Once the puppies are born we will take the remaining deposits, dependent on litter size. We take these payments through Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal. The remaining cost of the puppy is due at the time of pick-up. After sending your deposit, you will be invited to join an private Facebook group for all our past and present litters. We will post weekly photo and/or video updates to the group as well as milestones that the puppies have accomplished. This group will also be used for updates for you to post as your puppy grows! This group is also a place where you can ask for advice from all our pack members. Our puppy selection process goes by order of deposits received. When the puppies have been born, we will start at the top of the waiting list and move down according to how many puppies we have. For example, if someone is second on the waiting list for a male puppy, they will be the second to pick from the male puppies. If this person wishes to wait a week to pick their puppy, the next person on the list will have to wait until the second pick has been made to choose their puppy. Each puppy will wear a different colored collar so everyone can tell them apart. We will set appointments for each client so that picks are made in deposit order. Clients can choose their puppy virtually over facetime or via pictures. We do not allow visitors until puppies are ready to go home. This avoids any contamination to our set up that could cause puppies to get sick. Our puppies' health and wellbeing is our top priority over all other things. Puppies can be picked up the weekend after they turn seven weeks old. As we deliver the remaining puppies the weekend after they turn eight weeks old. We offer to meet/deliver puppies for a fee. Delivery prices can be discussed as requested. Clients are required to sign a contract agreeing that they will give the appropriate and most adequate care needed for their Golden Retriever puppy. (Or any dog/puppy for that matter.) The contract also states that the client cannot rehome their Ivy League Golden Retriever puppy without our written permission. If they have somebody responsible who can take the dog we can discuss that but we have to OK it first. This is just to make sure none of the dogs end up posted on Facebook for free or sent to a shelter. We will always have an open place for any of our puppies to return to our care. Returning a puppy due to one's own circumstances does not mean we will be issuing a refund for said puppy. We do not place our puppies in home where they are considering the future sale of said puppy for their own gain. Breeding of one of our puppies is fine as stated within our contract. However once more we do not sell our puppies to clients who only intend to sell said puppies for their own personal gain. We only wish for our puppies to be going to their forever homes and live happy lives. You may feel free to message us via text with questions as well as messaging our email or our page. As always, let us know if you have any questions! Thank you for choosing Ivy League Golden Retrievers!
