To bring awareness about Berkeley County Humane Society not properly, if at all assessing their pets

People need to be aware, that you cannot trust the Berkeley County Humane Society. They are not assessing their animals properly. They only go by what the individual says when the animal is dropped off. Everyone who donates and supports them, need to understand. This is what happens due to County Humane Society negligence. This could have very easily happened to a kid. I do not judge dogs by their bred. However I do judge people by how they treat others and their animals. BCHS, is not being run with the animals best interest.

The County Humane Society has blocked my ip address. I guess they cannot accept the truth about their negligence and improper assessment of animals. They don't care if anyone gets hurt from aggressive dogs. They do not care if a child gets hurt as long as they look like they are being helpful to all these animals. They want to appear as if they are saving so many lives. When at the same time they are risking lives as well.

We now need to keep a 2 year old puppy calm. Allow her to slowly adjust to using her muscles and legs differently. The strain and weight being placed on her only front leg had now practically doubled. All Berkeley County Humane Society thinks, is that her leg was worth $150 refund.

So now, our daughter has a new fear of dogs. Our son blames himself for throwing the ball, when the attack happened. We had to order runners for the house. So the newly 3 legged dog will not slip or fall. Ordered a new bed frame and bed, lower to the ground. To make it easier for her to get into bed (she loves being with people). Bought new harnesses and slings to help her transition from 4 legs to 3. Keeping her medicated for the last 2 weeks. So she will stay calm and not get muscle sore.

This is what happens because Berkeley County Humane Society, does not assess their dogs properly or at all. They told us we only go by what the owners say. They refunded our adoption fee. That felt like a slap in the face, our dog is missing her leg because they have no clue how to assess dogs. They felt that her leg is worth $150. As soon as they heard about the attack they deleted Commander's ad.

I don't know why, but he got very angry with me. He attacked my face. Mom and Dad tried to pull him off of me. They got him off my face, however he grabbed my leg. He was trying to kill me. I could hear my human sister crying and screaming. I didn't know why he was doing this. Then Mom and Dad got him off my leg, and that is when he grabbed dad's leg. My human brother carried me to the truck everyone but Dad followed. He said to take me to the emergency clinic now. He will take the mean commander home.

It was exactly 24hours he had lived with us. We went to a ball field to play. I don't care for tennis balls, I just like playing with my new friend. I thought he was nice, I thought he was fun.

Mom and Dad brought him home. We rode in the truck together, we chewed on toys together. We walked together and even my human brother and sister walked him and me together.

I met Commander at the humane society, they said he liked me. They said he was super gentle. We met on leash and then we met in the fenced in yard. We got along great.

I love to run, jump, and play with everyone. I used to think everyone was my best friend. I used to think everyone wanted to be my friend. I even have certificates from different types of classes for being a goldstar puppy.

I used to be a very happy playful puppy. I just barely turned 2. When Mom and Dad decided to get me a playmate. They thought, they should adopt someone for me similar in age. They went to the County Humane Society to find a nice doggy.
