March 17, 2024 - Would have been Brutus' 13th Birthday.

Brutus died one year ago this day (12/29/22). Rest in Peace Sweet One. Brutus wanted SO BADLY TO LIVE. He gave it all he had. I will keep his memorial and gravesite always beautiful. I will keep his memory alive and what happened to him known. Every year during the time of 12/12 (the attack) to 12/29 (his death), I will post a picture a day. When those things are no longer present, it means I have joined him.
The attack was so quick and brutal and large right at the start, the biggest problems set in some time later--can't stitch it as nothing to stitch to and too big; and cant debride/heal from below because wounds too deep from attackers brutality so there is no healthy tissue below. But am thankful that I saved him from a certain kill and what the killer intended to do to him on day of attack--as he drug Brutus away from me as I was saving him to get him off to the side and finish him off. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. I saved Brutus from all that. That dog would have killed Brutus right there and torn him apart. And that murderer is a "family pet" !
Be on guard with your pets. It can happen in a moment when you are right there with your pet. TOO MANY LOOSE DOGS--repeatedly running loose. Nothing is done by authorities. Be careful at groomers, vet's office, kennels, friends' homes, parks, YOUR OWN YARD, everywhere.

TRAVELS WITH BRUTUS memory. October 2016. 5.5 years old. Old Town Albuquerque during our 2016 trip to Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta It is a trip we tend to love and repeat--not only for the balloons, hospitality of the people, southwestern scenery, but it is something where large crowds of people gather at balloon events and EVERYBODY IS NICE TO EACH OTHER. Balloons bring out the best in people.

TRAVELS WITH BRUTUS memory. July 2013. 2 years 4 months old. Rock City Chattanooga TN This is where Brutus learned when we looked at something, he did too. Looked over hills, out in the distance, whatever we were looking at. We just had to say "look at that". He definitely enjoyed looking over rocks here and many places for years after this.

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY (Dec 12) our dear Brutus was quickly and violently attacked in OUR yard at greenhouse by an invading dangerous dog. I fought to save Brutus from a certain kill being attacked as well--saved him--for the time--only to have him pass 17 days later from the murder. Brutus memorial will have stars, angels, and colored lights for this time period. During growing seasons, it is adorned with beautiful flowers.

September 25. National Day of remembrance for Murder Victims (designated by Congress in 2007). Our beloved Brutus murdered December 2022.

6 MONTHS AGO TODAY, we lost our precious Brutus when he succumbed to complications from his horrendous attack and murder. He should be here to enjoy what he enjoyed--which was every single minute of every single day. He should have been here to enjoy all those moments. HE should have gone on morning walks, helped in the greenhouse, help sell plants, help plant flowers. Instead, I now plant flowers on his memorial and his gravesite. Everyone PLEASE always remember Brutus. Don't let him and what happened to him fade away.

Today would have been our dear Brutus' 12th Birthday. He should be here for 2 or 3 more years. He will have no more sunrises coming back from morning walks, no more sunsets to end the day, no more helping with gardening and yard work, no more vacations with his people, no more car rides to fun places, no more visits to his park—all due to the failures of humans. Human who let the killer dog out and did NOTHING to retrieve him. Human who was a neighbor of his trying to get the dog in her car to take him back home to his owner's property and-- after I was trying to help HER—she drove off and LEFT ME. AND the neighbor whose house is right there on that corner where the car sat--who saw us trying to get the dog in her car (dog was not aggressive to people, just to Brutus later, and I was attacked later only due to protecting Brutus)--and told his wife they both would “stay out of it”. Two people couldn't get the dog in the car—3 or 4 could have. Had the dog been retrieved in any of those circumstances, the attack would not have happened on our property and our Brutus would be with us to celebrate this birthday and have the 2 or 3 more years HE more than deserved.

Brutus is in Heaven now. Sepsis poisoning from his EXTENSIVE wounds was too much. 03/17/2011 - 12/29/2022. MURDERED by a HUMAN who let a dog out and did not take their own responsibility to either get their dog or call animal control to retrieve their dog. Attacked Brutus in his yard on 12/12/2022 and fighting a hard battle until 12/29/2022. We are beyond grief at this point--we will not heal from this. We all tried so hard, including our beloved Brutus Maximus Williams.

On my recent trip to Mesa Verde National Park area with my people, I was NOT allowed into four corners monument,. My Mama wanted a picture of me so bad on the spot where the 4 states come together--so thanks to Cheryl Lombard's photography composition skills--she created one just for me!!!!!
