Charlie update. 🙂
He is just about completely healed from his neuter. Fingers crossed we can start back with his training in a week or so. He has been doing great especially with introducing him to the other dogs. We did our first pack walk the other night(all 8 of us). He is adjusting well to the family environment. He really has been great with our kids he is just a whole lot of big (110pound) puppy and knows no personal space just yet.
This boy has his quirks but he is still so young and has the potential to do anything. He came back to me as "not friendly" "dog agressive" "doesn't like anyone or anything". He has proved time and time again these last few weeks how much they were wrong and had absolutely no idea how to properly raise him.
This being my first ever dog I've had come back to me is an eye opener as a breeder.
But we are turning the page on a new and better chapter from here on out and he will get the family he deserves. 🤎

Charlie is recovering well from his neuter!
All his vaccines are up to date, heartworm test was negative, and got a fresh nail trim. He was 109 pounds. We will start back in his obedience classes once he is fully healed. He is still looking for that special home to call his own.
Yes Charlie has a rehoming fee.
Included in the fee is the transfer of his training classes. He will be going to AES K9 in Mapleton, IL if his new family is "local" to the area you can continue his group classes for as long as you continue to show up to the class. He will benefit tremendously from the continued training. He is an extremely smart boy and can go in any direction. He loves to work.

It's National Dog Day!
To say our dogs are our family is an understatement. Everything I do is for my family & my dogs.
The late nights, early mornings and everything in between watching these babies grow and become members of their new families bringing as much joy into their world as they do to ours. Wouldn't have it any other way. 🥰

The big guy is at the vets for the weekend getting neutered on Monday. Fingers crossed 🤞 everything goes smoothly. One step closer to getting him into a new home. 🤎

An update on how Charlie is coming along. He loves to play with the toys and has been doing some fine tuning on his obedience. Working him in different situations and with my husband and I both handling him. He definitely prefers women to men but we are cutting through that layer of fear. Our vet appointment had been rescheduled to Saturday so we will be getting up to date and scheduling his neuter. We did have an evaluation with a professional trainer at AES K9 in Mapleton and will start him in classes once he is healed from his surgery. Shawn thinks he has great potential he is just stubborn and un neutered which will be fixed soon! His classes can be transferred to the new owner if they are local to continue his training. This young boy has potential to do it all! He is going to make someone the perfect dog just getting through a few bumps in the road.

My Corso people! I know some of you are anxiously awaiting the next Red Wood litter. But for some that have asked about babies available now. My dear friend Morgan at Soaring Royalty Canines has some gorgeous corso babies ready to go this weekend!
I myself will be bringing one of these beauties home! Stay tuned! And I can always pick up and deliver. 😉

Update: At this time I am not recommending him to anyone with children. He is not mean but he is ALOT of mass and still has a lot of puppy behavior. He will NOT go to anyone with out breed experience and the knowledge to keep up on his training and work on the few issues he has. This boy needs a job and consistency.
So far the introductions to a few of my pack have gone well.
We go to the vet Monday to get up to date on vaccines and schedule his neuter.

It's been an extremely hectic last few days. But due to no fault of his own this sweet boy is now back with me for awhile.
He is out of Athena & Wallace first litter in 2022. I will be doing a full evaluation, getting him vet care and he will be getting neutered.
Once everything is done he will be in search of the perfect FOREVER home.
What I have learned so far is that he is extremely well behaved. He did go through obedience training and of course is a very smart boy. He has been the only dog and thinks he rules the roost so we have some issues to work on. I will keep everyone updated as we go.

I will be extremely picky about where and to whom he is placed!
He needs someone who has experience with the breed, and has strong leadership and training skills. If that's not you he will not be the dog for you.

With an arising situation I have had recently I feel that this is fitting! The fact that I have to make a post like this is gutwreching to me.
But please remember! If you EVER have a life change to where you can no longer care for your babies they come back to me regardless and I will do whatever is necessary to find them a new forever home! I don't care if they are 8 months or or 12 years old they come back to me.
Don't forget to read your contracts! Even though I go over every important part of the paper work before you walk out my door with your baby. I am not one who is going to sell you a new member of your family and forget about it. These dogs are my passion, my life, and every little face born I remember! You are RED WOOD family for life!
Thank you to all my families who are just absolutely amazing to their Red Wood kids. You all mean more to me than you realize. ❤️

Spent our first weekend traveling to Missouri Purina Farms. Mav did amazing. He still gets his nervous puppy energy but turns on the charm in the ring. More experience under our belts.

Summer is here! Keep them babies safe.
