Just need to brag on my sister and mustangs for a second 😉!

My incredible sister and showed off what mustangs can do this past weekend at Fleur de Leap horse trials where they came in third overall after going double clear in cross country and stadium to finish on their dressage score of 28.3!!

You may recognize Murphy from the 2022 Extreme Mustang Makeover where he was shown by Naomi Rose Mustangs. Since then Elise has worked hard to prepare him for eventing, and these two are truly a testament of what makeover mustangs can on to do! Murphy is only 2 and a half years from the wild!

Cheyenne really showed up the past two days at the Kentucky Horse Park! I could not have asked for a better horse in all of our classes! She stayed my reliable and talented Cheyenne whether we were performing or riding through the dark during early morning warmups. Cheyenne is truly one of the best horses I have had the pleasure of training, and I could not be more grateful to have such an amazing horse for my first ridden makeover! ❤️ In our first two in hand classes, she showed off her skills despite my nerves. Our freestyle was so fun, and she seemed to know she was performing! We finished out the show with a clean riding pattern. Overall, I’m so happy and proud with how she did!

I definitely could not have done this without my amazing and supportive family and the guidance from Mr. Cory and Mrs. Nicole of Cory Bourque Horsemanship. I don’t know what I would do without you guys!

Also, huge thank you to Rebecca Bowman of Fall Creek Falls Equestrian for putting on this event and making a youth riding event possible this year!

I had such a great time getting to know the other competitors; you all were so impressive especially in the riding class! The adults better watch out for us in a couple years 😉!

And most of all thank you to tag #2385, the little scraggly black Wyoming filly I took a chance on for giving me a chance to teach her. She, however, has taught me more than I have taught her. I am a completely different horsewoman and trainer because of the this long, rewarding, sometimes hard, but always worth it journey! Can’t wait to see what our future together holds!

Mustangs are coming to Louisiana!

Have you ever wanted to adopt and train a mustang, but the adoptions were too far to travel to? Well now is your chance!

November 14-16 the mustangs with be at the Sugarena at Acadiana Fairgrounds in New Iberia, LA.

I’m happy to answer any questions about the adoption process you may have as I’ve been through the process a few times. I’d love to see more mustangs in Louisiana and to see the trailers empty when they leave our state. So, make sure to share and spread the word!

Even if you aren’t ready to take on training a wild horse just yet, it’s a great experience so come stop by to meet and learn more about America’s horse!

Long overdue Cheyenne update!

Cheyenne has been a busy girl the past few months! We have continued to work hard at home on groundwork, preparing for our freestyle, and getting her more finished undersaddle. She has learned so much and has turned out to be a very willing partner. She has went to our 4-H horse camp where we did a demo and observed at ranch sorting and local stock horse show. On top of this, Cheyenne has has shown in our 4-H practice, parish, district, and state shows in showmanship and groundwork. She kept up with the older, more experienced horses and laid down some pretty competitive patterns. The placing I’m most proud of is 3rd in showmanship at the state show this past week! She handles the show environment like a pro and is usually sleeping before her classes! While at these shows, I rode her in the arena at night and even during the speed event warm up (and we all know how a speed event practice pen can be) and she stayed calm and with me. Traveling and showing also showed me her weak points (which include lack of motivation undersaddle), and I will be working hard on these in the coming weeks.

Two years ago today I took a chance on adopting my first little mustang. Turns out he would teach me more than I would teach him! We have now adopted 5 mustangs since Phoenix showed me how amazing mustangs can be!

In honor of two years together, I decided to remake some of the photos from when our journey together just started to show just how much he has grown!

Had a great two days at Cory Bourque Horsemanship’s Advanced Kid’s Camp!

It’s always a great time with good horses and good friends!

I brought both of my girls, and they both did well!

Reba and I have really turned a corner with Mr. Cory’s help, and I feel like we are on track to do great this upcoming show season! She also took care of me on a trail ride through water, mud, sticks, and narrow trails!

Cheyenne easily kept up with all the seasoned horses in groundwork and had her first ride off property and in an arena!

1 month with Cheyenne ❤️

Her personality has really blossomed just like her color over the past month. She has learned so much groundwork and is catching on to many maneuvers and obstacles really fast! She has also been super calm undersaddle and has been ridden walk trot in our pasture by me and even accepted two other riders. She is also become super easy to load and is coming to my weekly lessons, a clinic, and more!

Super proud of this girls progress, and I can’t wait to see what more she will become! 😄

Tag number #2385 is now….

Cheyenne🏔️!

I can’t believe it’s only been a week since I picked this girl up! ❤️ She is super smart and is settling into domestic life great! She can been caught, led, groomed, saddled, or more! We have also been working on simple ground work maneuvers, and she is picking them up fast. She is a sensitive mare, which has come in handy when teaching her to move off pressure, but it also means more desensitizing. Although she was scared in the beginning, she is now fine with tarps, flags, and all my crazy shenanigans 🤪.

She even gave her first lesson to friend of mine who wants to learn how to gentle mustangs. I was super proud of both of them! 😊

Can’t wait to see what the rest of the journey brings, and I know Cheyenne is going to the perfect partner!

Introducing #2385

She is a 3 year old blue roan mare from Salt Wells Creek, WY and will be my partner for America's Next Top Youth Trainer 2024! I will be training her until September, then heading to compete in Lexington at the Kentucky Horse Park.

I’m super excited to get to know her! So far, she has been super calm, loaded like a pro, and already sniffed my hand in the trailer.

I was lucky to get such a beautiful mare, and I can’t wait to get training!
