Hannah’s final day
Today marks the completion of Hannah’s 30 days of foundation work. She came to us as a disrespectful young mare and is leaving with a much better understanding of respect. She has come leaps and bounds in 30 days. Today she will have her final lesson with her owner and go home a much nicer young mare to work with. Kudos to her owner for investing in herself and Hannah and thank you for trusting us with her and trusting the process. We can’t wait to see where you take her in the future. #asherhorsemanship #horsemanship #trusttheprocess
Waylon’s 1st set of shoes
Yesterday, Waylon got his first set of shoes. If foundation doesn’t speak for itself…this is a true testimony of bringing them up right. Before the nailing, he was hot shod and never moved a muscle. No video was taken as two hands were needed just in case things got western, but he absolutely took it like a seasoned horse. This is how you keep your farrier coming back!

Hollywood
This is Hollywood’s 3rd round pen session. Quite a difference since session 1. If you didn’t see the before, please take a peek. Consistency.

Cotton
Today, Cotton’s owner sat in on his lesson…and today was the first time I asked him to canter…and boy did I work for it. He gave it to me though! It was short, but we will build on it. Afterwards, I found out that today, was the first time anyone has been able to get him to canter under saddle since she has owned him and she has owned him for quite some time. So life goals…let’s get him good at it! Way to go Cotton!

Hollywood’s 1st session
Hollywood’s first round pen session. I hope y’all continue to watch her progression. She has a LOT to learn! Right now, we are working on respect. She is as disrespectful as they come. One session at a time, she is slowly changing. But, this is session 1…

Cotton first day under saddle with Asher Horsemanship
Cotton has been in my program for 3 weeks now and he has come through some extensive groundwork to bring him to a place where I feel he is now prepared for the saddle. Yesterday was my first ride on him to assess where he is under saddle. I was surprised to find him rather green, or what I consider green under saddle. Just a few things I noticed were he was very busy in the mouth with the bit, he was very sticky moving his shoulder and hip and he was unsure how to bend without moving his feet not to mention he has no idea how to stop off of my seat. So this will be a journey for him to understand how to answer all of these questions that are being asked of him, but he will get there. This is all necessary to make him a safe and confident mount for his rider. He will be a fun one! And have I mentioned he is huge? 😳 it’s a stretch for me to get my foot in the saddle and I’m not a short guy! 🥴 It’s guess I’ll teach him to pick me up on the rail. 😂 stay tuned for his progress! Thanks y’all for watching and Happy Trails! Be safe! #asherhorsemanship #horsemanship

Up now is an update on Jewels. This long yearling has come a LOOONG way! #asherhorsemanship #groundworkmatters #horsemanshipjourney #horsemanship
Ivy is coming along very nicely. I'm pretty proud of the advancements of this little red mare. She has a ways to go, but it's all in her time. Small gains is what we look for. #asherhorsemanship @followers #HorsemanshipJourney #horsemanship
Still playing catch up with training horse updates. This is Lux's 1st ride with me. She was previously being ridden, so now we are working through getting some softness in the bridle and just being confident under saddle. Again, this was her first ride with me since being in my program. #groundworkmatters #asherhorsemanship
This is our newest training horse, Jewels. She's been here for 2 weeks now, but this is the first chance I've had to put up a video :( Better late than never, right? Anyway, this is day one of her training. I'm hoping to have some updated videos of her coming soon.
Dakota yearling gypsy vanner stud colt
Where’s our gypsy vanner lovers? Keep an eye on this guy! He’s one of our newest training horses in at Asher Horsemanship. He’s just a year old and is currently in his first couple days of training. His owners have decided on the name Dakota with a registered name of Dragon Slayer. He’s got a lot to learn so stay tuned for his journey. #asherhorsemanship #groundworkmatters #startemyoung #horsemanshipjourney #horsemanship
Lux rope work and changing of the eyes
Sorry we have been MIA for a little while…but we are back and have some great training sessions to share. This was Lux’s first day of rope work and a little work on changing of the eyes. The changing of the eyes works the blind spots behind her which we have found to be an issue with her. So here’s how we begin to work on those.

Lux days 5 & 6
Today marked lesson 6 for Lux and she has come quite far. If you remember back to my previous video you will clearly see much improvement in the respect aspect. Her movements are becoming more like a fine dance. Stay tuned in a few days for another progress video. #asherhorsemanship #groundworkmatters #horsemanshipjourney
