This week's update is a little behind schedule, but it's better late than never!
The puppies all have their eyes open now. They're getting bigger, louder and fatter! They're also walking/stumbling around the pen and starting to chew on each other! They've also started to get some teeth, and Ember is starting to wean. We've also started feeling them gruel (puppy food soaked in formula) and introducing them to drinking water! They've also gotten a pen upgrade, so they have a place to sleep and a place to play!
Time is just flying by with these little ones.

The pups have started walking around the box. They're getting loud, some are finding thier bark! A few have started to open their eyes, and the rest are very close!
We also have everyone thier names! This litter letter is "C".

Ugh, guys. This is hands down the hardest litter I've ever had. 💔

This morning we woke up to our little ♥️Red- boy ♥️ passed away in the whelping box. There was nothing wrong with him from what I could see. He has been sleeping soundly with his siblings when I went to bed. He has been nursing and gaining weight well. I was wondering if he accidentally got stepped on or laid on, but Ember is so particular about where she steps and lays in the box, that I find it hard to believe..

❤️‍🩹 Focusing on the negatives just doesn't work.. I have to view all of this as a learning experience, as difficult as it may be.
Im working diligently to be the best breeder I know how to be, and this is all just part of the journey! Unfortunately, some little lives just aren't meant to be.

Raising animals is not for the faint of heart.
Its an emotional rollercoaster, throwing you in all different directions..
It's draining. It's exhausting. It's tiring. It's the sleepless nights. It's every 3hour feedings.

It's heart warming to watch new life be born. Its a sense of pride, watching your mother cleaning, feeding and warming her young. It's all the heart eyes watching the newborn stumble around. It's joyful. Its encouraging.
But most of all, it's worth doing.

When I first started these pages for my dogs, I really debated if I wanted to share these sad posts. But like everything, it's not always sunshine and roses.. Sometimes it doesn't matter how darn hard you fight for these animals, they just don't make it.

After being up all night with this little Green boy, trying everything I possibly could, we had to say goodbye to this sweet soul at just 4 days old.
His markings were completely proportional in everyway, completely perfect on the outside.
This is the hard part.

The part that makes it all worth it, is all those other fat healthy happy pups, and their little squeaks and noises. Watching them grown up. Meeting new people and watching them add a new member to their family, and the joy that a dog can bring to others.

So, to the others who raise animals and are on this same rollercoaster, I see you. But just remember, this hard work right now will pay off. You can do this. 💪

Sorry folks. 😔There's no filters on these pictures, because who has time for that when you have 1️⃣3️⃣ newborn puppies!! 😱
Yeah, you saw that right. Ember had 1️⃣3️⃣ puppies. She is the champion of mother's right now.🏆
💔We unfortunately lost our little 🩵Turquoise girl🩵. She was born not breathing, and it took Ember and I a good 10 minutes to get her going. She was up and nursing and looking good. Tuesday evening she took a turn for the worse. We were up all night working with her, doing everything we knew to do. Wednesday morning she unfortunately passed. It's so strange how you get so attached to something so quickly.. 💔
We've started supplementing 🍼some of the smaller puppies to help give them a boost. So far everyone is looking great, and packing on those pounds.
I'm so thankful for a wonderful dog like Ember to raise these puppies with.

Ember had her babies Monday, November 18th. The first, 💜a girl💜 was born at 8:04am. The last 💚a boy💚 was born at 3:27pm. They're officially 1️⃣ day old and everyone is doing amazing!
Drop your guesses below 👇 as to how many she actually had!
(Hint: the vet's ultrasound prediction was wrong!😅)

Ember has quite the baby bump going! 🤰
Especially over the last few days, she's gotten quite uncomfortable, slow and sleeping a lot. 😴🥰

The final puppy count is in! The ultrasound showed definitely 1️⃣1️⃣ puppies! There's a possibility of 1️⃣2️⃣. (It looked like one hiding up in her ribcage, but it was so hard to see.)

I told Ember not to do another 13 litter again. She did listen! Just not the way I intended...😆 We've prepped everything, and we're just waiting on her to release these hostages!

Please reach out if you're interested in getting our on our waiting list for one of these puppies, 🩷🐶

I'm always in the kitchen. 👩‍🍳
Which means Ember is always in the kitchen.
I cannot tell if she's just being a stage 5 clinger, or waiting for something to fall from the counter. 🤤😂

Time seriously got away from me , but last week we celebrated Sage's (and Ember's very first litter's) 2nd Birthday!!!🥳🧁🎉🎂🎁

Sage spent the morning in my kitchen while I got some chicken🍗 put away and prepped for canning. I really think she stayed hoping I would drop a piece for her.🤤 The afternoon was a good nap 😴under the supper table while we did some schoolwork. How this dog can sleep comfortably in so many weird positions is beyond me. 😆
The evening was back outside to enjoy these short fall🍂 evenings, and watching the neighbors cats 🐈run everywhere.

It's so special to know that this dog was born in our family, and she will never know a home without us. She's turning into such a beautiful big girl. We love you, Sagie-poo! 💗💗

Introducing Heidie's Emberance FDC! 😁
We always knew that Ember was a farm dog, but now she passed her Farm Dog Certified through the AKC!!
We had the opportunity to go to Blue Ridge K9 Training Center in Fairfield PA, meet alot of super folks, see lots of different, and some unique dog breeds!
Ember has to complete 12 different obstacles, like she would encounter on a working farm, like walking past animals, be kenneled without me in sight, stay tied to a fence while I feed animals, jump on some haybales, walk across uneven surfaces, etc.
