Some of you may have noticed the adorable Great Dane inhabiting the dog park this week. Kota belongs to Ashleigh, our office manager who has been temporarily displaced due to a house fire. He has been named our honorary greeter while his family gets back on their feet. Ashleigh has been a huge part of our family for over a decade. We are so thankful her animal and human family are safe!

Today we are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mrs. Cristen Carlson. Cristen was a lifelong animal enthusiast and a dedicated mother, wife, and practice manager. Her battle with Stage IV ovarian cancer ended yesterday afternoon and she passed peacefully with her family by her side. Dr. Carlson and Avery will be away from the office for the rest of the week to grieve.

Dr. Barbara Peterson has graciously stepped in to see appointments for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We will be available for tech appointments for the rest of the week and select days for bath and light grooming appointments. Cristen’s favorite features, our Pet Store and DIY Dog Wash will be open daily from 9am to 5pm. If your pet has an urgent need during this time, we advise you to contact Premier Veterinary Group in Grayslake or VSC in Bannockburn.

Dr. Carlson wishes to remain private during this time and would not like to discuss his wife’s passing upon his return. He kindly requests condolences be left at the front desk.

Rest peacefully, Cristen. There will be a long line to greet you at the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈

Good Morning. The day after a holiday is always a busy one. Dr. Carlson is on site at 8:30 to meet with you if you have an urgent care need. Just walk in from 8:30-9. We have some surgeries and then appointments today but will stay until we have seen all the sick animals.
