Hi all! LUCKY here!

Do I have a story for you! Mom left at noon today to get dogs surrendered. She got to Greenville (TX) and a light came on in the car… she heard a weird noise but got time to get to QT gas station. She got out of the car and the left rear tire was completely flat! 😱

Mom contacted someone from her phone to come help her change the tire. That service replied it would take a long time. In the meantime, the person surrendering the dogs arrived and gave mom 2 mini Schnauzer boys and 2 Poodle girls.

They were safe and in the air conditioning in the car. That person left and mom sat in the car with the 4 dogs, waiting…

She thought: “why don’t I start getting the jack out and the little tool to unscrew the tire.”

She is concentrating on moving the crates and pulling the jack out, when someone in a truck stops behind her and loudly says: “DO YOU NEED HELP?” Mom jumped out of her skin, screamed her lungs out and said: “I have a flat tire!” He got out with one of his sons, apologized for startling her; another man approached, and together, they replaced the tire.

And it was his birthday! She doesn’t know their names but thanked them profusely and wished the man with his son a wonderful birthday! 🎉

Mom picked up a merle, blue-eyed Schnauzer and the other one is liver tan or what we call “lavender” with hazel eyes. Very handsome boys. The Poodle girls are white and very sweet.

Adopted!

Hi, I’m Aquarius (58731137), a 1 year old Australian Kelpie mix with a heart as big as the sky! I’m sweet, precious, and affectionate. At 40 lbs, I’m the perfect medium-sized cuddle buddy, and I’ve got brains to match my beauty! I already know SIT and DOWN! I’m just looking for a loving home where I can shine. Could you be my forever person? 💫🐾

Well hello there! LUCKY here!

I’ve been chilling lately as mom has been massaging my back… oh boy, it’s divine! I can barely keep my eyes open 😴

We have new dog beds as my sister CALLIE likes to scratch down to another world in them and eventually makes holes in the fabric. CALLIE is a touch senile.

All of our beds are clean and smell nice. She also told us how important it is to wash our dog collars. She said with grooming, her and Sabrina see very dirty collars that some are wearing. She throws ours in the washing machine regularly. We know when she washes collars and leashes because we hear the cling-clong of the tags in the machine.

Mom said it’s important to keep our collars clean because:

~ It prevents skin irritation
~ It reduces the risk of skin infection
~ It minimizes odors
~ It prevents matted hair
~ It allows our skin to breathe

She said for a stinky collar, she used vinegar and baking soda and they look like new!

Especially MY collar when mom rescued me. My skin was sooooo bad 😱 that she simply threw it away. With my allergies and skin issues, she keeps mine clean all the time. It doesn’t take much for me to itch! And it smells sooo good when it’s fresh out of the dryer 😄

ADOPTED!

Let’s talk about Thurston... because we truly don’t understand how this incredible boy, a shining star is still at the shelter 💔

He watches with hopeful eyes as his friends leave for new lives… and still, he waits. Day after day. Week after week. It breaks our hearts.

Here’s what makes Thurston a shining star:
🐾 A fantastic 3-year-old sweetheart
🐾 A true doggie playgroup star... social, friendly, and playful
🐾 He’s shared his kennel with other dogs (even puppies!) to help save space
🐾 We call him a good luck charm, because all his kennel mates get adopted… yet he’s overlooked. WHY?!
🐾 Smart as can be: knows SIT, DOWN, and SHAKE
🐾 Loves water! Catching the hose spray, splashing in the kiddie pool... water play and toys are his jam!
🐾 And above all, he’s sweet, patient, and so deserving of a loving home

Thurston has done everything right. He’s brought joy to his furry friends, knows his manners, and keeps his gentle heart open. All he needs now is someone to finally choose him. Someone to cuddle with on the sofa, someone to love him!

Please come meet him. Please share him! Let’s not let him wait one more day.

Meet Thurston at Collin County Animal Shelter at 4750 Community in McKinney. If you have a dog at home, bring them with you to see what they think of this handsome boy.
