Good morning,

PUPDATE ON MILO:

He ate a full meal for the first time in one week! 😁 We are exercising the back legs, slowly, a bit at the time, several times a day not to stress his back.

He still will have an ultrasound of his heart soon, but at least, he is improving. He is totally glued to mom. He panics if she’s a few feet away from him.

Mom is pretty busy right now with MILO, LUCY B with her cirrhosis, TOFFEE who is blind and screams when he is looking for her, COOPER who is also blind and looks for mom all the time, and me with my skin and heart issues. Good thing BLACKBERRY’s jaw is healed now!

Hi! ME again!

BLACKBERRY’s CT scan results are in.

His jaw is completely healed! YAY! He has 4 more weeks of soft food and the dental specialist recommended NO antlers, NO bones because they cause tooth fractures.

BLACKBERRY is now available to be adopted!

He is an awesome, happy, lovable boy… and very handsome to boot!

He is 4 1/2 years old and weighs 8.4 pounds. He has a beautiful, thick coat.

Hi there, LUCKIE HERE!

I gots lots to say today. So many things happened!

Firstly, BLACKBERRY is at the specialist today and will have a scan to check if his jaw is completely healed. Mom hopes it is because he keeps on poking her shins with his party hat and her legs are bruised 🤣

She will know later today. 🤞🏻

Secondly, LEROY the Yorkie, got adopted today!! 😁

Thirdly… well… that one was no fun.

Last Sunday, MILO was on the ottoman in front of mom and jumped off. When he got on the floor, he landed like a sac of potato on his side. Mom saw everything and called his name and he was not moving. She threw her cross stitch in the air and rush to pick him up. She screamed my husister’s name. She came running in the living room as mom was massaging MILO’s chest.

He was non responsive and his tongue had turned blue. Mom was crying and started to breathe in his mouth. His eyes didn’t move, and he was not breathing so Sabrina did CPR and mom was giving him breath.

Sabrina did that for several minutes and suddenly, MILO started to breathe and he moved his eyelids. Once his tongue turned pink again, they rushed him to ER. At the hospital, they did x-rays twice, bloodwork and gave him a shot to make sure he wouldn’t have inflammation in the brain. He stayed there until Monday evening.

They found out with all the tests that MILO had a stroke. He also has scoliosis and degeneration of his discs in the middle of his back. 😱

He is now on gabapentin, Cerenia because he felt nauseous and didn’t want to eat. Thank gawd I do not have that problem! 😜 He has to be crated for 2 weeks and he is not allowed to jump, run, get excited. The dogtor told mom MILO has to rest and be kept quiet.

Wherever mom goes, MILO follows. She is monitoring him to make sure he will not have another episode without her being there.

He is doing much better now and totally FREAKS OUT if mom is not close to him 🤯!

MILO is back to life gaining strength daily, eating a bit more every meal. He gets a bit wobbly when he’s tired but he will gain strength. The cardiologist saw some mineralization of the arteries around the heart. He will have to start heart meds soon.

Gosh! Mom has a hard time saying these long fancy words. Can you imagine how hard it is for me, a dog? 🥵

MILO is only 11 and he is small. He will need to go and have an ultrasound of his heart and arteries.

UPDATE: LINCOLN HAS BEEN ADOPTED 🥳

It's been 𝟮𝟯𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦.

230 days since Lincoln arrived at our shelter in Burleson, Texas, and we just can't understand why he's still here. This sweet boy has been patiently waiting, hoping someone will see the amazing companion he is.

This adorable pup is a 1-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who’s full of playful energy. He's everything a family could ask for, and yet, he remains here, watching other dogs go home.

Please, share Lincoln's story. Maybe, just maybe, someone out there is looking for a dog just like him. Let's give Lincoln the chance he deserves. His adoption fee is waived and includes shots, microchipping and heartworm testing. He is already neutered so he can go home today.

The shelter is at capacity, so if you’re thinking about adopting, make us your first stop. Check out all of our adoptable animals at burlesontx.com/adopt

Hi LUCKIE here…

This morning, JACK, who was adopted on 03/11/2010, went back Home across the Bridge.

At SDR, he was rescued at the age of 4 months and mom had named him Pudding. His parents went back in his paperwork today and realized he was adopted on 03/11/10 and crossed the Bridge today, 03/11/2025.

Mom said she remembers that little boy and was so in love with him.

R.I.P. JACK. You are missed. Big hugs to Kathy and Steve and thank you for giving JACK a loving, long, great life.

Good evening y’all!

LUCKIE here!

I am here to talk to you about a little guy who needs a home.

His name is SNICKERS and he is between 7 and 8 years young. He weighs 8 pounds. He likes his toys and is an escape artist.

SNICKERS is leash trained and his potty manners are very good as long as his new owner takes him outside to potty regularly

WHAT DOES SNICKERS NEED?

~ A home where his owner will be present most of the time
~ No young children
~ A home where he will be safe as he is an escape artist. Safe fencing, no gaps under the fence and gate.
~ SNICKERS will do best as an only dog.

He is a very sweet and adorable boy and needs a great loving home. His owner recently passed away and the family was not interested in keeping the dogs. The other Yorkies were adopted. SNICKERS is still waiting…

He is neutered, current on shots, HW negative, microchipped, had bloodwork and dental cleaning, and he is parasite-free!

Please share! It works!
