I had such a great time with Gomez on our Doggie Day Out! We went for a car ride, walked in the woods and met some lovely adoption prospects at The Stix Icehouse event.🐶

Come by Collin County Animal Services in McKinney today and met Gomez! He is a 1.5 year old Shepard mix who is as sweet as can be!🐾

He loves giving kisses and enjoys playing fetch with balls and is very close to catching a frisbee when thrown. He plays well with others and is good with kids!❤️

There were 5 sweet, friendly dogs that had to be euthanized because there was no space for all the incoming dogs the other day at Collin County Animal Shelter. 💔

⭐️Ways you can help prevent this from happening again⭐️

🐾 Encourage your neighbors and friends to spay and neuter their dogs and cats (SO MANY PUPPIES AND KITTENS)

🐾 Share photos of the adoptable dogs at Collin County Adoptable Pets in McKinney Tx to your page to reach more potential people who can adopt.

🐾 Fill out a foster application. Fostering takes a dog out of the shelter and makes room for another one.

🐾 Encourage our community leaders to help create solutions to these problems. There are way too many animals coming into the shelter and there is not enough space. Collin County Animal Services is a shelter not just for McKinney, but it also has to house animals being brought in from Anna, Melissa, and Frisco as they do not have their own shelter.

🐾 And Please remind people the shelter is NOT a no-kill shelter to leave their surrendered dogs and cats. Lost pets need to go through stray hold there, if you can't find their owners, but surrenders are not even safe that long.

He is the best! He is super friendly, walks great on a leash and is good with other dogs! He also knows lots of tricks!🐾❤️🐾

He is looking for his forever home, or someone who can foster him until he does. 🐶
