Suede is still available at City of McMinnville Animal Control! He's a long-time resident who desperately wants a home of his own. Suede is vaccinated, neutered, and his adoption fee is sponsored! He's velvety soft with the sweetest eyes. Suede has shown some separation anxiety while hanging out on the farm. He needs a confidence boost and someone to do life with! Check him out at City AC!

We visited our friends at Animal Health Clinic this morning! Ollie practiced his new skills by waiting patiently in the lobby and getting on the scale. Coy and Roscoe were happy to join in 🐾

Balto is still available at City of McMinnville Animal Control! He is vaccinated, neutered, and his adoption fee is sponsored! We assume Balto is some type of Shepherd/Husky mix. Balto is a young happy go lucky fellow. He rides in the car, settles nicely in a kennel, and enjoys interacting with people and dogs. He enjoyed burning off some extra energy today and would love to have a job of his own! Check him out at City AC!

Tiny is still available at City of McMinnville Animal Control! Tiny is spayed, vaccinated her adoption fee is sponsored. She has an old rear leg injury that would benefit from a workup. Tiny rides well in the car and settles nicely in a kennel. She would flourish with regular training and exercise to keep her brain happy! Tiny will require placement in an only dog home or an experienced handler to work through her reactivity issues. Check her out at City AC!

❤️ Libby ❤️
Libby is still available at City of McMinnville Animal Control! She's a sweet middle-aged all-american mixed breed. Libby was brought in with her friend Hurley. She rode well in the car and was happy to take a mid day nap today. She is very food motivated and enjoyed getting some exercise. Libby is selective with her canine friends and will need an experienced handler or placement in an only dog home. Check her out at City AC!

Welcome back Carlos!
Carlos is from City of McMinnville Animal Control. He's here to relax and learn how to be a dog! He'll be hanging out with us for the next several weeks. I can't wait to watch him come out of his shell. If you're interested in meeting Carlos or helping the dogs at City, let us know!

I spent some time with my friend Chica this afternoon! Chica is deaf and struggles with anxiety in new situations. We practiced greeting strangers, watching the world go by, and learned how body language is so important, especially for deaf dogs. Good job, Chica! 🐾

We introduced a new puppy to our pack this holiday season! The most common question I receive as a trainer... How do I introduce a new puppy into my home?!? 🎄❤️🎅

The answer is slowly! We've had this little guy for a couple of weeks. Coy is now able to go on short walks and off leash playtime with my adult dogs. Inside the house, we utilize baby gates and exercise pens to prevent him from pestering and practicing behaviors we don't want in adulthood. Roscoe has an extremely high prey drive. We'll be using his basket muzzle until Coy is larger and less squeaky for interactions.

Coy is approaching 12 weeks old. We aren't focused on just obedience cues! He is working on potty/crate training, building engagement, and lots of socialization! He is learning how the world works and slowly being exposed to all the things he'll need to be comfortable with as an adult. Loud noises, different walking surfaces, car rides, strangers, ignoring dogs in public, busy stores, parking lots, hotels, elevators, grooming, vet visits... and more!

Here's to the next few months of puppyhood with this spunky little dude!

❤️ Hope ❤️
A new face from City of McMinnville Animal Control! Hope is a young, mixed breed girl who had a rough start in life. Her puppies are weaned, and she's ready for a new beginning! Hope was happy to get some exercise and check out all the new smells around the farm. She showed some reactivity to other dogs and resource guarding behaviors today. All very common issues with our shelter friends! Hope would benefit from a stable environment and working with a trainer or experienced owner to help her overcome these issues. Hello Monday! Don't forget no pick-up or drop-offs on New Years Day. Today is our last playcare day for the year, and Dallas will be out of the office Thursday and Friday. Cameron will be hanging out with our boarding friends, so take it easy on him! Happy New Year friends!🍾🎉
