Pupdate on our shelter friend Mork 💕
Mork is available for adoption through City of McMinnville Animal Control. We have learned so much about this goofy little pork chop! Mork enjoys going for walks, car rides, napping on his bed, and chewing on bully sticks. He is crate trained and is on a regular potty schedule. Mork enjoys meeting new people and has been aloof to other dogs. He firmly believes personal space doesn't exist and is happy just hanging out with his person. Mork was extremely anxious in shelter and has made big steps in adjusting to the world! He thrives with a predictable schedule filled with exercise, enrichment, and downtime. Mork would love to find a foster or adopter before heading back to the shelter. Mork is neutered, and his adoption fee is sponsored.

Sarge is still available at City of McMinnville Animal Control! This week is his one year anniversary at the shelter. That is a long time... especially in dog years! Sarge is a young, handsome, mixed breed fellow who is ready to work! He is active, curious, and always up for an adventure. Sarge would benefit from regular exercise and obedience training to keep his brain and body happy. He is neutered, and his adoption fee is sponsored! We had some rough weather last night! Do you have a plan in place for your dogs if an emergency should strike? This is one of the many reasons we prefer crates over runs or built-in suites. Let me explain!

As a child, I experienced a devastating house fire. I watched my dad crawl back into our home, searching for our family pets as smoke and flames poured out of the windows. As an adult, I've had to evacuate my home quickly due to flooding, tornados, and one really exciting lightning strike. At our previous home, we even had to evacuate by boat due to flooding!

Emergencies happen. I need our personal dogs and guests to be easily located and movable at a moments notice. We will never be a "cage free" facility because I care too much about these dogs and their well-being in every type of situation.

A new kid on the block from City of McMinnville Animal Control! Theodore is 6 months old and has grown up in the shelter. He is a boisterous puppy with a bright future. He is happy, curious, and food motivated. Theodore is not house broken and does not understand life outside of a shelter environment. Can you spot the difference in these photos?

Our shelter friend, Mork, has been hanging out on the farm for 10 days. He's now crate trained and on a regular feeding, potty, and exercise schedule.

Morks body language is much more relaxed! His facial expressions have softened. His mouth, eyes and ears are soft and happy! Just like humans, dogs also struggle with anxiety and unregulated emotions. We're so happy to see this big ham sandwich starting to relax 🫶

Welcome back Mork!
Mork is one of our shelter friends from City of McMinnville Animal Control. Thanks to a very generous donation, Mork is able to stay with us at the farm for the next month. We'll be spending some time getting to know this beef cake and helping him decompress away from the shelter. Stay tuned for updates!

Where do I start?!? Xena is the longest resident with City of McMinnville Animal Control. Two years is long time, especially in dog years! Xena is crate trained and knows some basic obedience cues. She enjoys hiking, car rides, and just doing life with her people. What's the hold up? Xena is extremely selective with her dog friends. She will require placement with an experienced handler who is interested in keeping her mind and body happy. She is motivated and ready to work! Xena is an active dog and will not adjust to a couch potato lifestyle. If Xena sounds like the dog for you, let us know, and we'll put you in touch with her foster mom!

We had lots of friends from City of McMinnville Animal Control hanging out at the farm yesterday!

●Jack
Welcome back, Jack! Jack is loving life in his foster home. He is working on some basic obedience cues and enjoys playing with his foster sis Willow. Jack enjoyed interacting with people and other pups today. He would love to do life with someone! He's eager to please and extremely food motivated. The sky's the limit!

●Mindy
Mindy is a typical pitty... short, stocky, and full of snuggles! She desperately wants a home of her own. Mindy enjoys being active, but will not pass up a nap on the couch. She settles nicley in her crate, rides well in the car, and is a happy go lucky girl. Mindy will require placement in an only dog home or experienced handler to work through reactivity to other dogs.

●Carlos
Carlos has been hanging out with us for a couple of weeks, thanks to a generous donation! He's a very shy fellow and has shown some reactivity in new situations. All very common issues with our shelter friends! Carlos takes a few days to warm up to new people, but once he does, you've got a friend for life. He would be a fantastic candidate for the foster to adopt program. Carlos is crate trained and is working on building some confidence to explore the world. He would thrive with a confident handler and a predictable routine filled with training, exercise, and downtime.

All of these dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and their adoption fee is sponsored! Check them out at City AC!
