Important Announcement:

2 things: Price increase and New Hire!!! :)

Due to inflation and the general cost of living these days, I will be increasing my prices in January.

Due to high demand, I have hired help! Her name is Arden and I'm excited for you all to meet her. I'm also so excited for her to start and so is she. She will be helping me bathe, dry and clean, but I will still be right next to the pups and also be the only one doing any hair cutting. She will start, December 2nd and as a result, my appts will be on the hour (half hour?), starting at 8:30. I will have 8 appts available a day instead of 6. I'm working on fixing my system to reflect this. Ugh, computer stuff! Please be patient with me. The amount of time that takes while running the rest of my business is challenging! Appt times will start at 8:30 and will be followed by 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30. M-F

As always, thank you for your business!! I appreciate you and your pups and love being your preferred groomer and boarder!

Looking for a bather monday through Friday 9-3. Shifts will vary due to the schedule. Potential to become more....maybe a groomer. Would rather train fresh from the start than a seasoned groomer. Must have own transportation, be able to lift heavy dogs with no problem and 100% reliable. Reliability is huge bc of more scheduled dogs coming in bc of extra help. I'm a good boss (ask my current employee who I love!). I appreciate my employees who do a great job for me. Let me know if you or anybody you know is looking for this type of work. About Me!

Hi! I run Nikki’s Local Grooming Service out of my home in Mechanicsville, VA. I am a one-on-one groomer and by appointment only. What does this mean for your dog? It means your dog will have 100% of my attention and will NEVER be in a cage. My home is a good environment for your dog because it is a home and not a vet or grooming facility with loud clanking cages and barking dogs. I genuinely care for dogs, have a connection with them and working with them is my calling.

Before owning my own business, I was a Project Manager in Marketing and worked for Corporations as well as Agencies. Prior to College and Marketing, I worked with dogs in the roles of Vet Tech, Groomer’s Assistant and Doggie Daycare Attendant for many years. After becoming a mother in 2017, I realized it was more important than ever to be able to be on my own schedule and tend to my family. We acquired custody of my step son in 2018 and We welcomed another son of our own in July of 2019. We now have 3 boys total! I have been grooming for a few years now and this is exactly where I want to be! My dream is to open a local dog kennel that offers boarding, grooming and doggie day care. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of my clients and their owners and am excited to meet many more of you!
