Today was a day for my furry children. My 3 got much needed TCL. Of our 3 Simo, our Malamute mix tends to need it the most due to him being an outside boy. His double coat acts like a dust mop and collects all the things out in his yard. Joshua (my boyfriend and his dad) has been enjoying the animals that come to visit and loves to be involved and learn when able. Due to his interest I let him step up and see if he could work his magic and learnings. I did have to help a smidge as Simo is about 90-100lbs and when you’re learning it’s easier to have a helping hand. I think Joshua did a fabulous job at bathing and brushing. He even attempted a sanitary trim! I’m so proud! 😂❤️

Vaccines are very important for not only yourself but your pets too! Pet diseases are very different than ours. Some lasting YEARS in the right environment. If your pet travels, goes to pet stores, groomers, dog parks or really anywhere that other dogs could be. They are at risk of picking something up. I highly recommend the Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies vaccines.

Joint pain can be found in many parts of your pets bodies. Here are just a few areas to be aware of. If you notice your pet is stiff when getting up or down, limps or toe touches. Seems sensitive when being pet are just a few signs that they may be needing some extra attention in the health department. We all get old and can't help it but your vet can help keep them comfortable for longer.

Yearly f***l tests are always recommended even if your furry friend doesn't spend much time out doors. We live in a great environment where some of these little pests like to live in the ground/surroundings and wait for a prime opportunity for an unsuspecting pet or even you to walk on by.

If you're not already doing so, you should make sure you are getting your pets tested for any and all internal parasites. Most puppies and kittens are born with them, so doing a regular yearly f***l check catches things early. Not every dewormer defeats all that is going on or may not treat the parasitic infection your pet has. Most of the parasites are also to small to seen by the naked eye. So just because you don't physically don't see anything doesn't mean they aren't there.

I am always here to help when it comes to nail trims for my Medical Lake furry friends. Trimming nails can be very nerve wracking for those with wiggly pets or those with darker nails. Over grown nails can lead to longer quicks which can lead to a higher risk of accidentally getting them. Keeping your pet on a regimen helps make their visits with me, easier, faster and more friendly as they realize I am here to help and their feet feel better.

If you are seeing any of these signs, please speak to your Veterinarian about the next steps. Just like us they don't have to be in pain but they can't seek out the help for themselves like we can. They need our help.
