Hello everyone! 💕🐰

After taking a little summer break from breeding, it is getting that time of year again when we are preparing for our winter litter.

I’d like to take a little poll and ask who you would like to see us put together!

Option #1: Darcy and Thor
This pairing gives us the BEST personalities! Very docile, cuddly, easy going kits that are the best options for someone who wishes for a calm lap bunny. Colors range from Silver Martin, Chinchilla, Sable Point, Magpie, etc. BOTH parents are VC and several babies have been VM. Brown eyed offspring.

Option #2: Darcy and Loki
This pairing gives us the best color assortment! Colors have ranged from tri-color, orange, black tort, blue tort, broken tort, and cream thus far. We have also had our first blue eyed kit from this pairing. Babies from Loki are gorgeous, but not as calm or laid back as those from Thor. These kits are very comical, energetic, high play drive, and enjoy attention when they seek it. Darcy is VC and Loki is VM, so VM markings are highly likely.

Immaculate conception?! 😱

Or so I first thought, as there was no initial explanation.
I did not breed this Mama (Jane).
All of our buns are raised in our home.
The girls are housed completely across the room from the boys.
They have zero contact.

So to my knowledge, she had not been exposed to either of the boys.. or so I thought. 😒

Story time..

Two days ago when I added fresh hay to all of the buns, Mama Jane started furiously grabbing mouthfuls of hay and displaying nesting behavior.
Our last attempt at intentional breeding was the same day that we last bred Darcy, back in May. Jane never took, so I let her be and figured that we would try again this fall.
Side note before we continue: The gestational period for a rabbit is 30-31 days, so if she would have been bred she would have been due in June.
Anyway, so I just figured that maybe she was having a false pregnancy. It happens, and it wouldn’t have been her first time.
Well.. fast forward two days, and this morning we awoke to FOUR baby bunnies in Jane’s house. Three were stillborn, and one perfectly fine.

HOW on earth did this happen?! 😳

That is when my two teenage daughters both exchanged glances.
Their expressions said it all.
Apparently, about a month ago, they were cleaning hutches and Jane jumped ship and went off exploring. No big deal, they all get to take turns free roaming quite often. However, this time Mr. Thor somehow managed to pop open his hutch door and escape to have a romantic quickie behind the couch with Miss Jane. 🥴
The girls thought they were only out together for a few seconds.. well, they are rabbits.. and we all know how the saying goes. It only takes a few seconds. They didn’t bother telling me about the excursion, and well.. here we are today!

Introducing baby Clover.. a name that is as lucky as the little one itself. 💕🐰🍀

Sweet babies Aspen and Juniper both left with their new families today! It is always bittersweet when our littles head off into the big world, but we are so happy when they find homes that love and adore them as much as we do! 🥰❤️

Meet our charming Mr. Aspen! 💕🐰

Aspen is a BOY 💙, and our first ever BLUE EYED baby! He is absolutely stunning, and has a very laid back demeanor. Probably the softest of the bunch, Aspen loves calm, gentle attention.

He is available, and will be ready to go next weekend!

Hello everyone! 💕🐰

Sorry for being so quiet lately. Summer is an incredibly busy season around the farm, and to be quite honest.. I haven’t posted the babies because I am not only quite torn with this litter, but we are enjoying keeping the cuteness to ourselves for awhile.

This is the first litter of these colors that we have ever had, and we have triple the amount of people interested than we have bunnies.
I am also so very torn as to who we will keep. Currently, there are now four out of five contenders because Aspen turned out to have beautiful blue eyes.

So with that being said, I am going to try and figure out how to best go about this process. Obviously, not everyone will be able to take a bun home this time around. We will definitely be breeding this pair together in a few months, and are going to attempt Loki and Jane soon, as well.

Things are going to be kept a little more private with these babies. We aren’t going to do the traditional “first come first serve” deposits at six weeks. We are going to be a bit more selective with where they go, as we also have some friends and family who have fallen in love.

I apologize ahead of time for anyone who misses out this time around, but there is just something a little different, and extra special, about these babies.

With that being said, we appreciate your patience as we try to figure out how to best go about this.. we will post photos when we are ready. 🥰❤️

Oh my ever lovin’ cuteness!! This litter is chalk full of my most favorite colors! It’s going to be so hard deciding who to part with and who to possibly add to our program. That little black tort is my absolute dream! Think PINK, and hope for blue eyes! 🎀
