10 whole days with our cleft pallet baby, Saint 💖

These past 10 days Saint has continued to defy all odds. He’s an itty bitty guy, at only about 150g, but he’s just about doubled his weight since arriving here & we couldn’t be more proud!

Keep chugging along little man, we know you’ve got a ton of fight packed in that little body of yours!

Foster needed for little Martini 🍸

You may remember Martini, she was a very sick stray who we took in last month & nursed back to health. While she’s 100% better now, she’s a tad bit feisty 🔥

Martini has never swatted or bitten (even when being medicated & given injections) she just gives a little initial warning hiss but then does allow pets & to be picked up. Unfortunately a scared, hissy kitty isn’t ideal for adoption, therefore we are searching for someone who can spend quiet time with Martini each day, showing her that humans aren’t all bad. This would only be temporary (typically around 2-3 weeks) and will ensure Martini can make it into a home & not be released back onto the cold, winter streets of Chicago 🥺

We believe there is plenty of hope for Martini to find a loving home but would benefit from first being socialized. While her 1 airplane ear is kind of adorable, I’m not sure adopters would agree 🥴

Couldn’t stand to see our little cleft pallet boy, Saint, all alone, so we decided that our frozen suitcase babies (Alphaba & Glinda) would be the perfect pals 🥰

Everyone is doing fantastic! Alphaba & Glinda thawed out just fine & are doing great! And little Saint has gained 40g+ in his week here being exclusively tube fed ❤️

Hard to believe that Saint (middle) is an entire month OLDER than Alphaba & Glinda 🤯 Really puts his size into perspective.

After just a few days of treatment we are seeing wonderful progress with how Cruz is responding to the FIP medication 🙌🏻...

After just a few days of treatment we are seeing wonderful progress with how Cruz is responding to the FIP medication 🙌🏻

Initially his pupils were undetectible underneath all the cloudiness. Today, the cloudiness is clearing up & his pupils are visible. So happy to see such great progress in such a short amount of time ❤️‍🩹

We have some very sad news 😔

After exhausting all efforts, Pretty Girl unfortunately lost her battle 💔

In her memory, all money raised from Pretty Girl’s fundraiser will be applied towards treatment for our kitten Cruz, who was also just diagnosed with FIP.

Cruz had been adopted, then returned to the shelter. He sat in a cage for about a month where he just became sicker & sicker day by day. FIP can often times be exasperated by stress & Cruz sure has been through his fair share of stress 🥺

He is here now where we will care for him while he undergoes treatment ❤️‍🩹

Mom cat + 5 kittens found ZIPPED INSIDE a small suitcase dumped in an alleyway 😢 Mind you, the temp outside right now in Chicago is 27°f.

Mom ran off once the suitcase was opened. 3 kittens frozen to death by the time they arrived to me. 2 are very very very cold but show signs of life so I am warming them now.

Brooke 💜

Brooke was found in the middle of the road in rural Kentucky, unable to move. It’s suspected she was either thrown from a vehicle, struck by a vehicle or both 😔

Brooke’s injuries were severe- broken jaw & broken femoral head (where the femur meets the pelvis), requiring surgery.

Brooke went onto make a full recovery & today she found her forever home ❤️🏡 So happy for this sweet, deserving girl!

Would ya look what just came through our doors 🤯

Saint 🩵

Baby Saint is a 4 week old kitten that weighs just 87g. He was born with a cleft pallet & requires tube feedings until he is big enough for it to be surgically corrected.

He’ll be keeping warm in the incubator & receive tube feedings every few hours until he grows big & strong.

Will keep everyone updated on this little fighters progress ❤️

Martini (the sick stray kitten) update 🍸

Martini is almost 100%! She came in very very sick & wasn’t expressing an interest in food. She’s now eating well & recovering wonderfully 💜

Once those eyes are fully healed she’ll be ready for to find her forever home!

I’d like to introduce everyone to our newest best boy, Omar 🩵

Omar was found roaming the streets of Egypt with a severe injury to his front leg. His entire front leg was degloved & causing him excruciating pain (photo in the comments for those brave enough to look).

Our amazing rescue partner overseas brought Omar to safety & got him the amputation surgery he desperately needed.

Now, Omar is here in America in search of his forever home❤️🏡

This sweet boy is so full of love & personality– he even chirps! He adorably hops around like a kangaroo & loves to roll around for belly rubs!

What I want to know is, who’s going to be the lucky family to adopt Omar? Send us a message!
